Additional $10 shipping brand is worth.

The quality of Sperry's shoes lately have been going downhill.
I don't understand why, but if you look at recent reviews you'll find that there's frequent issues with stitching and how the outsole (the bottom rubber part of the shoe) completely falls off. I would guess that's likely a fault with whichever automated process that they've adopted for mass production since I've never heard of this issue 4-5 years ago or changes in material quality (Neither Hype or Sherry is running a charity, a shoe that's 6x cheaper comes with changes elsewhere). Proper stitching generally holds up well to the test of time.
Though, I would still recommend these shoes for casual use (due to the price). As long as you're not running in them and/or wearing them on a daily basis then they'll be fine.

  • Are these true to size?

  • Thanks, not all that sure but for $39 delivered.

  • Do you wear sock when wearing this shoe?

    • +2

      Your feet will get shtinky.

    • +1

No show socks! I like the vans ones as they stay in place.

Got two pairs of these (brown & blue). Brown is my favourite. I wear them all the time. Still perfect condition after years of abuse.

The nonslip sole is handy too!

  • Thanks. Got two.

  • +3

Just in case the tan boat shoe doesn't appeal, other Sperry colourways/styles available with most reduced to $49.99

  • Got two of them last year from Platypus and they were much cheaper, I think $20 delivered. Great for summer, the tan colour looks very nice.

    Thanks got a pair

worth buying for your guys if you are willing.

    • I’m not that old and no boat. You can have them all mate!

  • Its not letting me buy this with click and collect. anyone have the same issue

    • Wouldn’t let me either. I had the option but said it wasn’t available in my area

      • -1

Just buy 5 of them (free shipping) and return the ones you don’t need
Can probably get a better size this way as well
        Small effort required though

        • Ya I did that - there's a local store can return to in the city so its convenient

          • +1

@orbital: What story do you have to make up returning 4 of the same boat shoes?

            • -1

@Handymancan: Just tell them you ordered them to get the free shipping

            • @Handymancan: Got 3 different pairs (4 total) - but one pair with 2 different sizes - I'm taking a punt on the right size, either I return one, or I return all 4

    • Also having this issue, not sure how to change the postcode.

  • Would the store be open for return? What happens if store not open for next 30 days for return?

  • Had two in the cart, then it was my fault for looking through more stock as well as double checking my shoe size, lol.

Bought these for $30 from Platypus.
Honestly they are easily a $100+ boat shoe any day of the week, just remember to condition the leather every year.

    $30 it's a no brainer.
    Good spot OP.

You've given up on life if you're wearing boat shoes and not in the 60+ age bracket.

    • -3

Yeah for real, someone please kick my arse if you ever see me wearing these.

  • +1

For occasions where your craftsman's just won't go with your baby blue polo
