Which Stick Vacuum to Buy?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an Xiaomi Stick Vacuum (open to other brands however) and hoping to spend anywhere from $200-500. I realise that's a fairly wide price range that could probably get me anything from a V9 to a T20 but I'm having trouble deciding what is best for my needs.

To provide some context, I live in a modest sized two-story, two-bedroom townhouse/unit. Surfaces include lino for the kitchen, tile for the bathroom, wooden floors and carpeted bedrooms. I also have a large cotton rug in which the care instructions do say to avoid excessive vacuuming. It's only a two person household, no pets and no specific requirements except that the vacuum must be able to deal with long hairs, ideally coming with an attachment that can tackle that job without getting them frequently tangled up in it.

What model or combo would provide the best bang for buck in my scenario? Features such as a charging dock or wall mount that we can install in a rental are necessary also. Not having replaceable batteries or an OLED display aren't deal breakers but certainly would be nice. From my own research, it seems that the V10 combo might be a good compromise but I'd love some feedback, particularly from any owners of these models.

Thanks in advance.

I have no experience with the V series models in your poll, but I have the T20 and have not had a single hair be caught up in the roller. Game changer!

    • Cheers, that's really handy to know, might warrant a trip to Costco!

No pets and you have a rug that says to avoid excessive vacuuming. Do you really need the small convenience of a stick vacuum then? Bagged vacuums are cheaper, much stronger, and more hygenic, seems silly to kneecap yourself with a bagless vacuum for the small convenience factor if you're not going to be vacuuming multiple times per week. You can get branded replacement bags for about $2/each on eBay.

    • I certainly agree with a lot of your points regarding bagged vacuums but given the layout of our home and the fact that my partner already hates vacuuming with a burning passion, the convenience aspect probably trumps all other priorities!

        partner already hates vacuuming

Say no more, get the stick vacuum 😂

  • Miele Triflex HX1

    • Thanks for the suggestion, the reviews look great but it'd be out of my price range unless it gets anywhere near $500 on sale.

      • How can you say it's out of your budget when you're listing Dyson v9, V10 and v11 stick vacuums in your poll which are worth over $1000

        • As OP says in his post he’s looking at Xiaomi vacuums, which happen to have the same naming scheme as Dyson - except there’s no Dyson V9!

@jackary: Ah ok, sorry I didn't realise Xiaomi have the same naming convention

  • Miele Triflex HX1 is better than all of them. German engineered and designed it’s a very clever user friendly vacuum. It’s the best Vac on the market just check the reviews. Currently just $599 which is a bargain imo. We are about to buy two units, one for the in-laws.

    • productreview reviews are quite negative. All seem to think its not up to scratch considering the price.
