  • Can this connect to a regular modem / router?

    • Yes but you'll need a poe injector.

  • U6 lite can potentially be better and cheaper.

    • What's the differences between this and U6 lite? Thanks.

      • Also - potentially updates for longer, I'm myself looking for a replacement for the end of lifed AC-Pro - looking at the u6-LR, but there is already a u6-pro(?) in early access available, so waiting to see how they compare. Here is a great comparison table (USD) https://evanmccann.net/blog/ubiquiti/unifi-comparison-charts…

Apart from lack of WiFi 6, nanoHD is better overall and has been around for longer. It really depends on your use case and whether you have enough WiFi 6 devices to justify the performance tradeoff. NanoHD also comes with PoE injector included in the box whereas U6 lite doesn’t.
My opinion is to go with more robust AC wave 2 AP now and switch to WiFi 6e AP when they achieve design maturity in a year or so after release.

  • There is a security feature to prevent hackers to use same SSID to lure you. I forgot its name. Does this device has that?

    • no, you would need the Unifi SHD Access Point to have the security radio

  • “ aggregate radio rate of over 2 Gbps” and 1 Gb ethernet port is dumb. Give me 2.5GbE ethernet

    • Give me reliable firmware first :-/

      • Ubiquiti as a company is going downhill. Many good engineers left, management is cashing out on a good name, for a while. If you starting building your network now, look other way

  • TP-Link RE650 is 4x4 MU-MIMO too, cheaper, and works nice https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/593370
