Thanks, but they all look a bit like coffins. I prefer modern design. Also, prefer not to use wood.
As someone who purchased $199 speaker stands and was able to resell them for the princely sum of $30. You may want to check through Gumtree and fb marketplace for higher quality (heavier) stands for less.
Yes, that was my first option, but I could only find some overpriced and rusty ones, no good options. I will keep checking there as well.
I used to work for a government department that dealt with safety and possibly health.
Our monitor stands were phone books.
A shame if you actually needed a phone book. I am going back a very long time when I say this!

Not bad thanks, cheap and good looking. The spikes look scary though, I hope they are rubber or plastic, otherwise they will scratch out of speakers and hard floors.
I think the spikes at least on the floor side are to give grip on carpet, best to email the seller I guess or try these glass ones dearer but …
LPT: if the uprights are of hollow material, if you can gain access, fill with sand to dampen any resonance.
