How Can I Get Rid of 2m³ Sand?

I built a big sandpit for the kids. They have now grown up and the sandpit has to make space to a decking, I need to remove about 30 cm of sand before I can build the support for the decking.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Pfft, don't use common-sense! This problem required a forum post!

Ask ANL to come and pick it up? Or did you think I got it from the beach ?

    • Yes, that was my first thought.
I could also flush it down with the next big rain

No need to worry about that.

That'll be the subject of another post.

    Spread it over your lawn

  • If it's under a deck, who cares?

Dig your holes for the posts as usual, just make sure you're below ground level for sufficient soil MPa

    • there is an existing deck, and I need some space for the frames, and I dont want the wook of the frame to toucch the ground because there is lot of water coming throug.
So maybe the question is how do I get rid of 1 M3 still an issue

      • Spread it on the lawn? Less there is the better.

  • lol 😂

Advertise on Gumtree? People will take anything if its free.

    • I agree. Free giveaway on Gumtree is a good option. Someone will have use for it. Likely to be more successful if you've already bagged it up ready to be transported away. IKEA bags could be good for this.

  • Just put a bag a week in your wheelie bin, we threw out a whole garden full of smooth stones using this method.
Just do it bit by bit. If your bin is too heavy they won't pick it up.
Top dress your lawn with it as well.
You could ask your neighbors if they want a top dress or if you can chuck some in their bin on bin day to get rid of it faster.

  • Just take it to your local garbage tip or recovery centre. If you don't have a ute or trailer use bags or buckets in your car. This is done every week at my local.

Gumtree ad. ‘FRee sandpit sand, you remove - must take all cat crap too’

  • Go the slow and free way. The ‘some’ method…..
Spread some over your lawn to top dress
Put some on garden, dig in to improve clay drainage
Quietly spread some over nature strip, and other nature strips if they look like they have low points
Put some in bin, a bucket a week,

Pretty soon you’ll wonder where it all went….

    • Pretty soon you’ll wonder where it all went….

And someone you know will ask where to get 2m3 of sand for a sand pit for their kids.

  • Spread it out evenly over the rest of the yard
Just make sure you don't completely bury any grass.

  • Take it to the beach …….. no one will notice it

  • Advertise on FB Marketplace and it will be gone within 48hours
