How to Connect 3x 4k 60hz Monitors to Dell Inspiron 7306 2in1?

Hi all

Recently received the Dell Inspiron 7306 from this deal:

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/634406

It has a Thunderbolt 4 USB C port if that helps.

I'm trying to understand how to connect 3x 4K monitors:

2 x Dell S3221QS
1 x Dell S2721Q

Please suggest what dock/adapter I need to achieve this?

    Will it work?

You should be able to get at least 2x 4K using one on HDMI and one on Thunderbolt port.

In theory three could work, using a Thunderbolt 4 dock ($$$) to get two displays out of that port.
    e.g. https://www.amazon.com.au/WAVLINK-Thunderbolt-Displayport-Ad…

That integrated GPU is gonna struggle though! That's 24 megapixels of screen, not including the built in display!!

    • Thanks I didn't think of using the built in HDMI port for the 3rd screen. I'll give it a crack. Much appreciated

Well, atleast Intel's official specs say that it supports 4 displays, so we atleast know it can be done in theory. Now it is just a matter of getting enough ports to connect those 3 monitors.

    • Good to know, thanks

      • Yes, biggest hurdle is the port availability. If OP doesn't have 3 ports to connect 3 monitors, than it is clear it is not possible to do.

  • I've been using this adapter to give me 2 additional 4K60 ports over Thunderbolt 3 StarTech TB3 2x 4K60 Adapter with my laptop

    That's 2 external 4K60 monitors + the built in 1200p display; I haven't tested 3 externals though

Also, try to avoid Displaylink adaptors - they use compression over USB and I find them laggy

  • Lol, hate to say it buddy but I doubt that will work from a performance perspective.

I have a 2020 Macbook Pro with a 1.5GB graphics card, and I run the S2721QS, and it barelllllyyyy runs it from a performance perspective.

I doubt that laptop will run THREE 4K monitors - with an integrated graphics card.. people forget that the graphics card has to be capable of supporting these massive resolution monitors, and 3 of them is just not going to work.

    • See how it goes 🤷‍♂️

  • Sorry to hijack this thread, but I think this is exactly the group of experts I need.

I recently bought 3 x Dell S2721QS (dp1.2 4k*60Hz monitors), and am now in the fortunate position(?) to be looking for a laptop and dock that can drive them.

I was looking at Lenovo student sales, but I think a salesman there wasn't being honest with me.
He was saying the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2 (40ANY230AU) can drive 3 monitors, and can do 4k@60Hz, but I could not get him to put both of those facts in the same sentence. (Same as the specs - it can do both of those things, but I don't think it can do 3 x 4k@60Hz.) It has 2xdp + 2xhmdi ports.

Can anybody confirm whether it can, or the cheapest dock that can do 3x 4k@60Hz?
And cheapest laptop with sufficient graphics card?
