Not as cheap as the $68.40 pre-order half a year ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/604570

But it is a good price for those who are stuck in lockdown and need a trim.

I've been using mine for the past 18 months. Has been one of my better buys!

I've got this from the last sale and I find after using it quite a bit that I prefer the standard straight edge better as it is easier to use. Hair also gets stuck on the metal edge of this razor and there is a small gap.

    • Yes same experience here, was not getting leveled cuts & because its really wide, its hard to cut in sections, I think its only good for crew cut

    • btw using VS Sasson super clip XTP, find it awesome

      • Not really the same thing so you can't compare the two.

        • Correct, but as per advertising & having lots of different length attachments, I thought the only difference would be it'll take less time but infact it's hard to get a normal cut in sections, but yes crew cut same length all over is really quick

          • @taker312: For sure. I used to have a normal clipper but the Remington is so much better for a crew cut. I don't use the comb part at all and love it. Takes 2 minutes and all done.

Bought the previous model (non-turbo) from Harvey Norman. The battery died a week out of warranty. I found the performance really lacklustre without the mains plugged in.

I have the turbo, and have never used the "turbo" function - the standard speed is fine for me.
But my hair is pretty short to begin with, so perhaps it doesn't stress it as much as yours might.

It's actually never run out of charge, even though I only charge it once every 3 - 4 uses.

    • I bought the previous model also and used it every week for over 12 months. Still going strong and works like a treat.

Mine still going strong too. Big learning - occasionally add a tiny bit of machine oil on the cutting bar, runs faster and smoother…

    • Should have contacted Remington. Mine was about 3 weeks it of warranty when I finally got sick of the bad battery and they sent me the new turbo one for free.

Ghandi Inc, just launched, no feedback.
Might be a very late delivery, as in never.

    • July 26th sounds like a great delivery time to me.

Been using one for a couple of years without issues, typically every two weeks - like CrushJelly above, both turbo and standard speed seem to work fine, and have never flattened the battery but tend to charge it every 4 or 5 uses.

I also have a Remington all-in-one type trimmer with a flat blade that I tend to use to tidy up around the ears but otherwise I'd recommend this one

I bought this, the VSSassoon circle one, and a Wahl Lithium Ion trimmer. The Wahl takes about 1/3 the time and leads to less missed spots in my experience, also seems to last me about 2-3 months of fortnightly use. I bought it from ShaverShop for $89.

    • kind of same here, got this one, then VS Sasson Super Clip XTP (find it awesome) just bought WAHL Color Pro lithium but haven't used it yet, will compare next time :)

You can get a knock off copy from aliexpress cheaper:

  • Bought this back in Feb on the previous deal and love it. Makes a no. 1 all over so easy. Use it weekly, charge when I can be bothered to, have never run out of charge albeit it, only use for about 5 mins tops at a time.

    • Do you do it straight in the shower? I'd imagine if always going for a 10mm cut, that the shavings would be relatively minimal (if you do it regularly every week) and won't ever lead to clogging of the drains?

      • I don't do it in the shower

These are fantastic, I have two.

Only problem I found is eventually the combs wear out and break. Can you get replacements anywhere?

    • +1

I had the same issue with the older version and got spare combs from here. Just make sure you order a few combs instead of just 1 as shipping is what gets you.

      • Thanks mate, will do

  • Ive had mine for a good few years. Battery is pretty week now, but with it plugged in (which is fine for me), its great

  • Remington Rapid Cut Turbo Hair Trimmer/Clipper, when you absolutely positively need to cut every mother fu**king hair from you head in under 1 min, accept no substitute.

  • Bought this from a deal sometime ago. Was my go to barber during the 2020 Vic lockdown! Still going strong.
