    Got this last year, excellent!

    • +2

Me too. Just after the initial lockdowns - haven't been to the barber's since.

      • Does it get hot quickly?

  • +1

Thought this was a car part from the pic

    • thought it was a trunk cooler box

  • +1

A good hair clipper. Got it for ~NZD $62 last year and have yet to recharge it after 4 uses.

Lithium powered 70 minute cordless run time in a trimmer? tHaT's iNsAnE!

  • Great trimmer, battery lasts well.

  • +1

Good price. I have this one and bye barber

  • +5

Is that 'The Deep' in the product shots?

    • +2

Turns out you can't buzzcut your gills off :(

  • Been using one for the last 2 years and its great. Comes with more choices of lengths than the older version.

  • +1

Yep, it’s great. Waterproof etc. Bought one the older model 2/3 years ago, and never been back to the barber ever since. Highly recommended.

    • So this can be used in the shower?

      • Yes

  • +1

Doesn't look as though it's a shaver at all, looks like a clipper. VERY different. (Would love it to do a shave, I had my hopes up from the description above.)

    • +1

Headblade. Best thing i have found to shave my head.

      • Yeah, that's the one I've been thinking of as well. Been using a Braun, which is a good shaver, but time to branch out.

(Also, LOL at the idiotic downvote for pointing out the obvious.)

      • Headblade is ok. Have one myself. But i just use the old mach 3 tbh.

I find any of the two or 4 blade ones means blood. Stick to the 3 blade mach 3.

Wahl (or this i suppose) - because i let it grow too long between shaves
Oneblade (moustache only.. Because it hurts any other way)
        Mach 3

Mind you I shave using water, not creams or gels.

    • +1

correct, i use the old model daily face and head with no comb attachment and its short but not a shave, but its quick and reliable

      • Do you find the blade edge sharp or easy to cut straight against your scalp?

I have used a cheap remmington for aaages as the wahl one i purchased was insanely sharp and bitey!

        • no problems at all on the scalp or face, i have replaced the blades with a new set once as it started to get caught and drag, but this was after a couple of years of every day use so no complaints, bought the new blades and it was back to normal.

  • ive been using this https://www.shaverchoice.com.au/vs-sassoon-vsm7575a-v-double… for a few years, any one gone from what i'm using to this?

    • Have tried both, the vs sassoon is heaps better in my opinion, 2 blades is better than one ;)

  • Another happy user for last few years here, highly recommend

  • Been using the old model a couple of years. Only thing i find tough is getting around my ears because the blade is quite wide (quicker for doing entire head but harder for around ears). Maybe I'm just newb

  • Wow that's cheap! Bought it ~$90 beginning of lockdown in VIC last year. It's a pretty good machine.

  • Romper Stomper!!

How does this feel and work in spots where your hair is thinning? I don't have much on top. With normal clippers I find it hard to catch some areas/hairs and feels quite uncomfortable buzzing the clippers on top.

    • +2

It works better than any traditional clippers because of the curved shape. However, the scalp in this area is more sensitive, so it may still feel a bit uncomfortable.

      • Thanks for the feedback. Any improvement sounds good. Find myself putting off a trim due to the discomfort

  • is this suitable for shaving moustache and beard?

    • Well it is curved, so probably not great.

    • +1

No it's too big for precision for a beard. I've used the older model for probably 5 years. I have used it on the beard only as a means to trim back a longer beard before using a proper beard trimmer for a more even and precise trim. I wouldn't use it as your main beard trimmer.

  • is this good for shaving beard by any chance?

  • +2

    price jumped to 79 now?

    • Yeah, still ordered one, as well as a gown and hand held mirror.

Kogan has the product as well. You can get $20 off by using latitude pay

  • only 5 left in stock now

  • Have used the original version for years, are there any good reason to upgrade to this model?

  • I've had the old version for a few years but over time the battery got worse and worse to the point where it barely holds a charge any more and the clippers barely move. Remington (Spectrum Brands) were of no help and were not interested in offering any help. At least now I know which brands to avoid (Remington, Russell Hobbs, George Foreman, FURminator, Tetra etc).

    • Dumb question, but have you used the lubricant? I noticed mine was a bit sluggish too but then I lubricated and the blades sped up significantly.

      • +1

No no, not a dumb question. Yep - used lubicrant, cleaned it regularly. It's a known issue with them, as I saw many other complaints about the battery on productreview.

        • Yeah I've noticed mine aren't as fast as when new and the battery doesn't last as long. Not enough for me to upgrade though.

  • This that thing they advertise when watching Sports on Kayo, every single ad break.

  • This or the skull shaver?

    https://www.shavershop.com.au/skull-shaver/beast-clipper-for…

    Anyone used it?

    • +1

Never heard of it before but it looks annoying and uncomfortable.

  • I bought one of these to replace lost high-ish end WAHL clippers. The WAHL might be better if you're cutting someone else's hair, but for self-use, the Remington is WAY better.

  • This is for basically a head shave? Not like a 1-3?

I have new clippers, thought I'd try it one day as I'm thinning slowly.

It's either try this, or consider Finasteride 😬

    • It comes with lots of guides, just start high because I found the numbers don't match other clippers. ie I'm using the 12mm guide which is like a 3 or 4 at the barbers. YMMV. Good clippers though.

      • you're spot on! I used what i thought would be the right number based off another clipper i used prior and now my kids say i look like their bald grandpa haha

Excellent shaver but the battery on mine died within a year. Need to keep in plugged in unfortunately but not a chance I'll replace it yet.

    • +1

It's a hit and miss. The first one I got didn't hold charge at all and I had to return it. The replacement is working great for over 3 years.

    • Battery has been great on mine… Lasts for ages, haven't had to charge it all that much at all.

      • Yeah probably just unlucky. Super happy with it and doesn't really bother me leaving it plugged in.
