  • While the $99 makes it about $99 cheaper than anything on staticice http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=acer+aspire… I suspect that the cashback offer has something to do with the new Dell Netbooks being released today http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/04/dells-inspiron-mini-9-pop… however we are yet to see final pricing for Australia.

    • I'm pretty sure the cashback is from the manufacturer, which is why Hardly Normal and JB are offering it too.

  • Goodguys have the linux version for $100 less

  • Cashback is always from manufacturer.

  • You can claim the cashback from acer regardless of where you buy from. They also offer you an extended 2 year warranty instead of the $99 cashback if you so choose. Still, I paid $645 for my blue one from officeworks so this is a good price.

Also, you have to submit the online cashback form within a week of purchase date (and then plenty of time to mail it in).

  • Awesome toy, I'm using it now to browse the site.

Price is great as well, I paid $698 from DSE a couple of weeks back, I never got the $99 rebate as I too opted for the extended warranty as well. Just be aware though that there is a new spec model being released, it is going to have a 6 cell battery instead of 3 cell [battery life is not great, 2 & 1/2 hours using a fan hack on it whilst browsing with a virgin 3G card] and it is also getting 160GB HDD or 16GB SSD depending on the model [110 or 150]
Also later [though not confirmed on the new spec model yet] it is to get a built in 3G card modem in behind the battery, current models have the space for it now but it is covered in tape [take a look, you'll see ;) ]

Anyhooo I'd till recommend this to anyone, its great. Cheap as well.

  • This is really making the MSI Wind U100 look real expensive.

The only benefit is the 10" screen?

Keep up the great work guys

    Cheers
