  • Absolutely crap cameras. Very disappointed in battery life, security functions. It literally can miss alerting someone!!

    • Really that bad? I was considering to pick this up.. now have to reconsider… What other similar wireless cameras would you recommend?

On the contrary, I'm quite happy with mine, battery life (IMHO) is good, it gives me a few too many alerts (sometimes thinks my cats are people but doesn't miss people), however yes, security functions are a little mediocre, but I wasn't expecting an alarm system level security/volume.

Same here. Work exactly as I’d hoped and serve the purpose I needed. Batteries don’t last as long as it’s says on the box but I definitely go a month or more before recharge. I’m sure there are better options for more serious security but these feel like a solid middle ground.

Disagree on all fronts , no better overall package for the price, though did get the 4 camera version for only slightly more than this.

      • I agree with you. I have three cams, Quality and speed of notifications is fine. I may change my front cam for a slightly better long view… and battery is amazing. even my front cam that gets a lot of triggers will get 3 months fairly easily.

my back and side cams are much more than 3 months.

    • I’d like to know what you think is better?

    • I have a mix of Arlos and these and whilst they're not quite as responsive and the app is less polished, they are cheaper and no ongoing fees, which the higher resolution Arlos need. I'd buy it again and am considering this for my inlaws.

    • My 8x2C have been running perfectly. Get notification alerts within 5 seconds whether on same WiFi or out on 4G/5G.

      • do you know how to stream them onto tV or bigger screen?

    • Really pleased with mine. Have had them for over a year now and have recharged three times so battery life is pretty good. Image quality is more than adequate and I always get alerts on my phone when a person is detected. Night mode also works well. Unlike the competition, the best thing about these is there are no subscription fees.

      • do you know how to stream them onto tV or bigger screen?

What cameras would you guys recommend?

I have the newer eufycam 2 with 13000 mah battery and its down to 60% after 2 months with around 30 detections per day.So this older one with half the battery is gonna last only 2 to 3 months for sure.

Yes eufycam has its pros and cons.Detection is not the best. The clarity is not the best.

All battery operated cameras have their shortcomings.

I think best to go for wired 24 hour recording if you can do it.

I have the Eufy 2k doorbell and think it's great… but…. battery life is a month or less (hence I'm thinking about organising an electrician to wire it) and the alerts can be a little slow coming through sometimes. I'd imagine the battery life estimates on the cameras is similarly optimistic. When I last looked, the Eufy is highly regarded relative to its competitors - none are perfect.

    • Same here. I am very satisfied with the 2K doorbell too. Quality is great and sense well. Battery is good and I haven't changed for 3 months.

  • Don't see the point in having a camera that is not wired…

To many potential issues with wireless.

    Just invested in unifi myself…

This happened to me a few months ago, logged into the app and i saw someone elses cameras - I'm just going to leave this here…

I dont think there is a company on earth that hasn't been hacked or had a security breach of some kind.

Thought this was ‘Ozbargain’ not ‘Ozcheapestthisweek’

  • Anyone used the Xiaomi immilab EC2 cameras? I have couple of Xiaomi home sensors, am thinking if should get to that brand so all will be controlled under one aoo

  • No external hdd support (which was promised by the company, but never came), no continous 24/7 recording while plugged in, but app is good, audio is good, very happy with mine for the price. It’s already paid for itself.

FYI, these have now been succeeded by the 2C 2k versions, which were released a week or two ago.
The 2C 2K versions are now retailing at the same price point as the 2C version previously.

    • Do you know if there are any differences other than the resolution? 1080 probably enough for my needs, but if there is better human detection or range etc?
