  At least if you died when the 'carabiner' breaks, lost in the wilderness because the compass was dodgy, you'd know the temperature so you could scratch it into the rocks with your keys. Hey, it might help the coroner! :p

Lighten up guys, I don't think anyone's gonna be using this on their ropes. LOL. There are plenty of less critical uses for a carabiner like this!

I thought it was unconceivable when an el cheapo compass I bought pointed south instead of north(!). Should have paid more attention when getting it in the $2 shop.
