Just saw this banner pop up on DoorDash. Some pretty nice deals coming up! They've been going hard lately on offers. Also found when I can't order on Uber or Menulog they always have people and the times have been really good in Melbourne in lockdown. Like 35mins.

Currently, if you have not trialled DashPass you can do so and get 14 days free (getting all these deals). If you have trialled before, it charges immediately (mine did)

DashPass is 14 days free then only $12.99 a month, so like 3 orders a month. They have IGA and Reject Shop plus alco stores on there. Had some cracking deal like $12 six packs and stuff.

  • todays code SAVEWITHDP is not working :(

    • It looks like it has changed to DASHPASSIT

      • that only works for certain selected vendors.

          Yeah, seems its set merchants

OK I take back my previous glowing review of doordash lol. They are abysmal. The promos are supposed to win customers but they are losing existing ones.

Don't get too excited for tomorrow: 30% off orders over $40 on selected Asian restaurants MONDAYCRAVINGS
It is like Saturday, Doordash's selected restaurants, not the ones you want.

  • -1

You were right, not the ones i want for sure. Most of the restaurants are (temporarily closed) even though they are meant to be open. They are closed due to the special discount basically. Only a few random ones open.

    • +2

Nah, thats 100% not true. Non of the stores have to pay for this discount nor do they get told of it. Its free extra order for them (outside the normal commission they pay). For example, my auntie and uncles business is on all 3 delivery companies, pays 36% to uber, 34% to Menulog and only 26% to DoorDash. They were part of this weeks promos and got hundreds of more orders and didn't pay for them and honestly, made the biggest difference to them in lockdown. If the place is closed, its probably them forgetting to run a machine on or are closed.

      • That's not true, I never said the store closes it down. I would say doordash does and I would say they would look at each store and / or approach the store depending on the circumstances. There were not only 1 or 2. But many of the stores that were eligible for the discount that were temporarily closed. Yet were open on the other delivery services. They are included in the list / page of eligible stores but surprisingly were temporarily closed just during the sales day….too much of a coincidence.

      • Btw I am not sure on the rules but you put up this post and commenting on it and if your family is making 100s of sales from this deal shouldn't you tag yourself as associated?

        • Hahaha, hows that? They never even knew and nor did I until day 7 of the deals that they were included. They got included in the random list of places. Pretty sure not affiliated with the thousands of restaurants people could order from.

          • @mxlmxlmxl: Thats what i have seen in the past, any slight connection and some people say you should tag as associated. I put up a post when i heard about a deal from a friend who worked at a bank that had this deal and people said its probably better to put that i am associated. In this case you mentioned your family's business got 100s of sales from this promotion. Like i said, I dont know the criteria as it seems to be different people viewing it differently but generally i was told its always a safer bet to say associated if you are in some form connected.

            • @lonewolf: I mean, I get it if I knew upfront. If I had a connection to someone benefitting. But seems weird I had no idea, and they're one of the thousands. That's like saying I know someone who sells stuff on ebay and then post a 5% off of all of ebay and that's associated?

              • @mxlmxlmxl: I think you may be able to tag yourself as associated after the fact but i am not sure. Anyway up to you. I am just giving you advice as i have seen it go bad when people havent done it in the past but like i said different people have different views on what constitutes as associated. I have in the past just tagged myself if there is any slight connection just to be safe. And i usually mention it on the post so people then know why i tagged myself.

  • I dont see the Tacotuesday promo.
