    Still seems expensive…

100% this is the Apple of RGB panels. But they work and they work really well, the auto brightness adjust is very nice the app even knows the layout that you build from the tiles!
The app is easy to use and I was able to easily integrate it into my home automation system. The kids love the sound activated scenes and I often catch them switching from my preferred display and screaming (singing) to make the lights and patterns move.

    I have 3 9 panels kits I combined into a feature display/wall. ( plus two "left over" controllers I use elsewhere. )
I had one panel fail and they replaced it with no hassle.

    Pricy - but recommended.

    • My one doesn't respond well with music and sometimes the app glitches for Android.

I'm seriously considering jumping on this, and I noticed that the 4 panel expansion kit is on sale for $79 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/nanoleaf-canvas-expansion…). Is there any reason not to grab the 4 panel from this deal and the expansion kit for $178??

    • No idea what this item is but according to a review, don't think you can buy it on it's own: This isn’t a review, I’m just letting you know that you can not buy just this expansion pack. You must buy the pack of 9 first as this pack does not come with the cord and other things to connect. I do recommend these lights.

Partially Correct. Expansion pack will not work by itself. 4 panel starter pack will work stand alone. ( one of the 4 panels is the "controller" and there will be a power supply in the box as well)

Yeah I'm talking about buying the base 4 and expansion 4 as opposed to the base 9 ($178 vs $249)

Sounds like a good plan. You will be up and running with 8 panels for 178 vs 249 for 9 panels.
Although you will be limited in the designs and suddenly wish you had more panels :-)

I am thinking of doing the same so I have a "spare controller" but list time I did that I ended up using the things!

      • Yeah I imagine this is a slippery kind of slope ;)

Definitely prefer the hexagon shape over the square…

Nice panels they work really well in general. Need to be careful not to use them for too long during the summer seasons, because once the room temperature gets high the sticker behind the panels will melt and drop. Already had 2 system panels replaced because this happened. If the warranty expires, good luck i guess..

The kids love them. Got the local jb to price match officeworks for $70.

Use command strips for these. Don’t use what they provide as their strips are rubbish

Yep had to pay penalty with my old rental as it tore paint from the wall

  • Could I use these as ambient light that extends the colour from your monitor ?

  • This is a great deal on its own but a few hacks makes it amazing. I bought the 4 tile starter kit for $99 over the phone on 135244 and asked them if they'd pricematch Officeworks for $70 (originally $79 with JBHiFi) and they agreed, I bought two of the expansion kits (2x4 tiles).

They sent me a link and I put the coupon code in that was emailed, and express shipping was free in my part of Sydney. All up 12 tiles (including starter kit for control tile) for $239, which is $10 cheaper than the deal for 9 tile starter kit. Use gift card discounts if you have access for a bit cheaper sadly I don't have any but still a great deal regardless.

    • tell us more about the hacks? interested to know…

      • They’re as I described in method not separate as such, more a turn of phrase.

Can't imagine anyone spending the thousands on $$ required to fill a wall like their advertising suggests…
