    Thanks OP, bought 2

  • I'd be heading into Swiss Concepts if you want a real deal on Longines. But know what you want and want to pay. Don't go into a specialist AD and waste your time or theirs.

  • Can never tell how I feel about Longines. I don't think the style really does anything for me, they're all very dress-y.

    • It's ironic one of my least dressiest watches is my Longines and I love dressy watches

I assume the stores are still open in Sydney, being an essential service & all.

    • Their stores aren't open and can only be ordered online. I received my Longines 2 weeks ago and had to get it delivered ($16 for delivery if anyone is interested)

      • +6

Sheesh. Thousands of dollars with of watch and they won't cover $16 for freight? $16 sounds like it wasn't even insured.

        • Yeah, it was that or wait til lockdown lifts.
It was standard post. Express post was $25.
Still received it in 3 business days which wasn't too bad.

  • Can I pair it to my phone?

Order less than $500 from Starbuy, uses Express post.
Order $500+ From Linda and Co., uses Standard post.

  • i quite like the look of the Legend Diver but sadly, i'm not in the market for something at that price point.

  • And you can check to see if your watch is accurate by glancing at your phone!

  • Any watch bought this year from Longines which has a silicon balance spring has a 5 year warranty rather than their previous 2 year warranty just as a heads up.

  • Can you guys recommend a place to buy Rolex watches at a discount?

    • +2

I don't think that place exists.
Your best bet would be duty free but good luck getting a watch you specifically want.
I wanted to get the milgauss.
I can't even be put on a waiting list there is that much of a queue.

    • Rolex avoids discounts entirely as to preserve brand value, and it works.

Doesn't help that there are a large proportion of Rolex buyers explicitly with the intention of immediately flipping them.

So, you can get behind them on the list (after buying a handful of datejusts and other less desirable models), or you can pay 1.5x price to them.
