I don't need more chocolate in my cupboard….. I don't need more chocolate in my cupboard….. I don't need more chocolate in my cupboard…..

    • +12

Come to the dark (chocolate) side.

      • gonna grab dark pmint; seems least normie

    • +12

Yours makes it to the cupboard? I'm such a POS that I had to buy one of those self locking containers so I didn't eat it all like the vermin that I am.

      • That, genuinely, made me LOL. I get the Darryl Lea Dark Rocklea Road bars and they are, absolutely, addictive. Even putting them back in the fridge doesn’t stop me, and my man, finishing off a whole block. It sings to me.

        • I just bought 3 blocks of this stuff, it was half price at IGA up until today. Haven't tried it yet but at 2.50 it was close enough to aldi prices to be worth a shot

          • @Jackson: Would be interested to see what you think.

            • @try2bhelpful: Will let you know, I got milk and licorice, dark rocky road, and and something with cornflakes and salted caramel. The only thing is, I am not usually fridge chocolate, esp not a rocky road

              • @Jackson: I don’t fridge until after I open it.

              • @Jackson: How did you go?

                • +1

@try2bhelpful: Man, and they are killer. Only had the Bondi and the Rocklea road, only disappointment was when I realised they are smaller blocks. Gonna have to head back to IGA while they still on half price (I think until Tuesday but check before going). Any other flavour recommendations?

                  • +1

@Jackson: The dark Rocklea Road is my favourite. The milk chocolate version is pretty good as well. I haven’t, really, tried the others.

Keep an eye out at Coles, Woollies and Big W they are, often, on special. They can get down to 1/2 price, $2.50. Big W has them as $2.50 at the moment.

The small block is a good thing. It gives me a stopping point. :)

                    • +1

@try2bhelpful: I prefer dark, but I don't think Bondi was available in dark.I don't think I'm in at $5, but at $2.50 it's worth it for a change despite the smaller block IMO. Need to get more by tomorrow!

                      • +1

@Jackson: My view is I get smaller amounts of good chocolate. The calories have to be “worth it”.

You don't need more chocolate in your cupboard.

You do need more chocolate in hand or within easy reach.

Why don't they post the nutritional info?

    Is it non-existant?

    • More like, non-existential.

      Two questions for you:
      - Why are you literally always commenting on every post?
      - Why does every comment you post have at least one word in bold?

have at least one word in bold?

You are wrong on BOTH counts…

        This is jv.

jv makes OzBargain a bit more fun controversial

        • We take bargain posting VERY seriously here.

    • +1

Its chocolate you don't need that info .

      • thanks…

  • +9

Wish it applied to the Crunchy Salted Caramel too as that's my fav!!! I can't go back to Cadbury after these… Choceur is creamier and not as sweet.

    • Dark hazelnut has been my go to for ages, but I still holds up after years

      • Same, but over the years it's become sweeter and I don't enjoy it anymore :(

Just overall the Choceur varieties are way too sweet imo

    • Choceur is up there with the best in the world - Belgian and German chocolate

  • Only limited to those varieties?

  • +14

Warning - don't buy the Caramel, it's like a drug.

    • +3

lol beat me to it my personal fav and the coconut & white & all the rest .

    • +1

The new cookies and cream one is awesome too

      • Oooh I love cookies and cream… Definitely going to jump at this one :)

Edit: Cookies and cream isn't listed in the description, are they missing it out or is cookies and cream not on special or smth?

        • +1

Guess it's not on special but for $3 it blows Cabdury etc out of the water

        • They usually only do one or two of the varieties on sale at once, 4 is a bit unusual

    • +1

This! Its just totally filled with caramel…so good.

    • Concur. This and the crunchy salted caramel is all I buy these days. The coconut is not bad too. I just wish they bring in their peanut butter cups!

  • +3

OP - needs a poll otherwise I'm going to have to buy one of each.

    • That's actually a good idea lol

    • no need for poll. Its proven by science that dark chocolate caramel is the best.

      • And proven across this thread lol

anyone else notice the dairyfine chocolate, ever since it started being made in singapore it now taste shit ?

    • Yeah I don't buy that product anymore, the quality's definitely reduced.

Choceur is the best budget chocolate brand on the market.

      • yeah i also stopped, used to be in Belgium i think before the move..ah so much better!.. think i might need to move over to this stuff now

        • What's everyone talking about, I bought adli dairyfine choc today and it's made in beigium. Says on packet. I've never seen it with make in Singapore.

          • @mckayver: you must be 1 of the lucky stores still rolling thru old stock…packaging has had an update month or so ago along with being made in a new country

            • @Nitrollparty: I better head down to my Aldi tomorrow and buy 10 blocks of the Belgium version even though brisbane is in lockdown this is essential very important food. Lol

    • +2

I agree. I am a big fan of most Aldi things and LOVE the Choceur line. Dairyfine is not the best. That being said I think that not everything in the Dairyfine line is made in the same place as the chocolate peanuts ( $1.79) are made in Australia and are delicious.

    • I noticed the change immediately when they changed to a Singapore production. The previous, made in Belgium, recipe was absolutely delicious. The Singapore version has lost all of its creamy texture and is not great at all. I've now moved to Choceur, which is pretty good, but not quite as nice as the old DairyFine.

  • -3

I've never heard of it before but reviews found will keep it that way :)

  • +1

Reminds me of the last time it was this price and I had to go 4 separate times to buy 10 blocks at a time….

  • +3

The quality of these chocolates are phenomenal for the price.

    Milk chocolate for the win.

    • For non experts , even Choice gave it a big fail .

      • +8

Who cares what choice thinks, personal taste. I personally think this Chocolate is fantastic, only slightly below Lindt in terms of flavour, but so much better in price.

        • +1

I like it because it just tastes different from the distinct Cadbury flavour

  • Wish they'd make a peanut butter version

  • +2

Bought around 20 blocks of the Hymen Roth chocolate which was on sale a couple weeks ago. I might diversify my portfolio with this.

    • +17

Hymen Choc?…. How many cherries in it?

    • I don't think that was chocolate man

  • Great chocolate

  • +1

How long is the sale for?

  • Bought a Choceur milk block 2 weeks ago, made in Germany, it was totally inedible. It tasted like budget advent calendar chocolate. I've been buying Choceur milk chocolate for few years now, so I was pretty disappointed. Last week I bought the smaller 40g individually wrapped Choceur milk chocolate mini blocks from the same store, they're still excellent. Hopefully I just got a bad batch on the 200g block, but a friend of mine said the same thing, so I'm pretty skeptical.

  • Choceur dark is marvelous. Cheap and so tasty. Pity it's not included in the sale.

  • +1

Aldi's "Dairy Fine" Chocolate range at the everyday price of $1.99 is excellent chocolate with a reasonable selection including a Kit-Kat copy that tastes better than Kit-Kat

    • The Double Times taste like kitkats of old, the current kitkats wafers taste wrong, and has consistency of packing foam.

      • Well that explains it. Thank you

  • So are these on sale or not? My local only has dark peppermint and milk /white choc for $2. The website is still showing other varieties for $3

    • +1

You're correct, was just at aldi. Milk chocolate is still $2.99

      • +1

Yeah, dunno why I got negged. Hahaha

        • +1

Yeah dunno why either. I just gave you a plus for being correct. Yay

  • Why don't they do dark (non peppermint) chocolate, man…

    • +1

Because no one is buying toothpaste (peppermint) flavour dark chocolate. Lol

  • White choc, dark peppermint and caramel ONLY

  • How's it comapre to their Moser Roth?

    • +1

In a shootout, the Hyman Roth wins IMO. The dark chocolate is 70%, compared to Choceur 55%, which I find a little too sweet.

On value-for-money, the Choeceur is really good though. Roth was recently $1.99 per block, which is about Choceur's regular price on a unit basis. Stock up when you see cheap Hyman Roth next time!
