    Ewww Starbucks is awful.

    Still upvoted you :)

Which ones are better? New to capsule coffee so just discovering. Till now only liked Nesspresso Arpeggio

      • Try the Woolworths Fairtrade Nespresso Compatible Coffee Capsules.

        • Thanks

L'Or Colombia or Ristretto are great imo. On Prime Day, you can get a 100pk for ~$25, I always buy 500 pods for the year then.

      • I like the Vittoria capsules too. I agree that Starbucks in all their forms cannot make coffee.

      • +1

The best ones IMHO are the Napoli, Ristretto and if you're not in the mood for strong coffee, Aprgeggio and Roma are great.

Starbucks tastes like coffee in America to me, which is basically dirty water.

I realise that I am a coffee snob though, and others will even drink instant coffe…. which I would never do!

      • After so many hit and trials, i have landed on Arpeggio as well.

what do you recommend if Starbucks is awful?
I haven't found any capsule better than Starbucks. Happy to try if you can recommend any

French coffee addict here, Starbucks capsules are actually pretty good. surprisingly I must say. Similar to the new Nespresso brand you can find at Coles/Woolies. I suspect the same company is behind both products

      • Urbanbrew, locally produced in SA so supporting local jobs. Cheaper, good coffee and less carbon footprint then capsules from other side of the world..

        • Looks good. I might give them a go

        • I just got some from these guys too and they are quite good although to be fair I haven't had a chance to try all the ones that's in the supermarket

    • Yes. Never understood how people drank this crappy coffee.
And I used to drink moccona instant coffee and it was better Thta this,

Still up voted you for your comment :)

Woolies has 30% off most brands of coffee pods. Which one of these Starbucks ones do people prefer most? I don't mind the Cafe Verona and Colombia.

    • +2

I'm not a strong coffee kinda guy, but the Starbucks Blonde has been my favourite I've come across since getting my coffee machine earlier this year.

      House Blend

    • +2

I'm a big fan of their single origin Columbia. Tried a few other flavours, but for me this is the standout.

      • Houseblend

  • I never noticed these were made by Nespresso, just saw Starbucks and dismissed them as rubbish but if they're Nespresso they're probably just some of their regular blends repackaged at a cheaper price. Tempted to try them but at the same time don't want to encourage Starbucks so a bit torn.

They are made by Starbucks for Nespresso coffee machines

      • +1

Nope. "By Nespresso" it's on the box.

        • +2

True, my mistake. I had a look at the box at home and it says Made in Switzerland by Nestle Nespresso.

      • Yeah, that's what I thought as well which is why I never bothered looking at them before.

Best supermarket Nespresso pod you can buy

  • +1

Really enjoy espresso roast, probably my favourite supermarket pod after illy forte, but if I’m paying illy prices I’d rather just get nespresso’s pods (napoli always hits the spot for me)

Might use this as an opportunity to try some of their other varieties

  • +1

Tried SB but I think Farmers origin Nescafe pods (Nespresso is also part of Nestle) are better and better value at $4.50 or under during sale

  • Personally I really like these Starbucks pods. They appear to be made by Nestle (as alluded to in a comment above), which means that they always work perfectly in my machine (a Nespresso U).

Whenever I use other third-party pods, I sometimes have issues such as stuck pods, or only half the amount of coffee being dispensed etc. It may just be my machine as it's a few years old now.

  • I'm curious - why is this deal being posted at $4.83? Shows up as $4.80 for me. Obviously not a big deal, but I'm just intrigued about about the 3-cent difference. (I'm a Prime member if that's relevant.)

  • +1

I like their HouseBlend type. Thanks op!!

  • After trying out lots of different pods I have settled for the Moccona 10 strength as my go to.

    • They are good. made by the same people as L'Or

I just had a quick look at Amazon and it's showing that it's cheaper to buy individual 10-packs instead of this bundle.

    • The 10 packs are on sale making them cheaper than the bundles. Otherwise the bundles are cheaper when RRP's are compared.

  • Yeah i’ve given these so many tries when they were on special bec of the price and they always dissappoint

  • Starbucks.
Reminds me of what they use to say about nescafé 'Caterers Blend'

    Caterers blend:
They sweep up all the other coffee off the factory floor and put it in a jar and call it 'Caterers blend'.

  • It is only $4.8 delivered with Prime. I will give it a go and let myself be the judge of that.

  • Good for the L'Or machine once your $150.00 of pods runs out lol
