RRP is laughable.I got the 40kg set during lockdown wave 1, and it’s supperrr cheap quality. I got it for $10 off too, and I still feel like it’s a ‘meh’ deal - Big weight variances between plates and spin locks are not very secure. The shipping being very reasonable is the main pro of this deal…

Great deal OP, but a word of advice:

Never ever do bench-presses on a yoga-ball unless you want to risk a broken collar bone:

The ball popping was the last thing I was expecting, although now it seems obvious😆.

    • Power rack ?

      • I used one of these benches with my power rack for 6 months.

    • Brilliant idea and very handy to know!

Just working out in my new bench and just wanna say thanks for a brilliant life hack. Works really well, easy to pack away and we go camping a lot so this will be a great addition once we're allowed out of the cage.

      • Glad it worked out mate.
The only thing that made me go buy an actual adjustable FID bench was I missed incline bench workouts.
The overall length of it at the start was a little annoying but for the money and overall utility, hard to find a safe alternative.

Wtf lmao postage would be like $25 alone minimum….

Hijacked account for sure. Seller only has feedback from selling some sort of cheap temporary tattoos and has other listings too cheap to be true.

      • What’s the point of these accounts?

        • I think what happens is they hack someone’s account, change their PayPal/deposit details to their own, rack up tonnes of sales in a short time then withdraw/transfer the funds and then vanish

    • +1

Waaay too cheap to be legit. Don't buy the Ebay one.

doesn't ebay have some sort of protection for fake purchases?

      • They arent arriving dudes
The item is deleted and the seller deleted their account
Ask ebay for a refund I just got mine approved in like 2 hours.

        • How do you do that

          • +1

@Grannular: Send a request through eBay saying you having received the item
In the comment say you can't view the item anymore and the user deleted account

  • That is an extremely optimistic RRP!

  • damn, I thought it was 40kg per dumbbell. But it's 40kg in total so 20kg dumbbell each, 20kg is too light for me

    • +15

      Ok mr muscle

    • Doing 30x reps of 20KG is still a lot better than nothing because gyms are closed due to lockdown :(

But I agree that would be super nice being 40KG in total!

      • will 30 reps increase you muscle mass? being able to do 30 reps means the weight is too low and not beneficial at all.

        • +3

will 30 reps increase you muscle mass?

Absolutely! While you might see better increases for higher load and lower reps, 30 reps of any weight is definitely better than nothing.

          • @DiscountForThee: hrmm interesting, I might give 30 reps a try with bicep curls. Hopefully I see a significant difference by summer when I go to the beach

    • Yeah it is pretty light. I bought the adjustable ativafit 40kg adjustable dumbbells earlier this year for lock downs but they cost a lot more even with discount! The courier left swearing and in a really bad mood as he loaded all 80kg onto a trolley and was really struggling lol

These things are cheap but quality is just not there. They are basically concrete enclosed in plastic

    • During 1st wave lockdown I was thisssss close to fashioning my own weights out of concrete.. glad I cbf’ed in the end.

    • what should I look for in a set of bells?

      • Doesn’t fall apart, ideally

        • well these sound like $90 pieces of crap. what brand would you get

          • @furyou: For $90 ish, I’d suggest go to Kmart and get a mix of kettlebells and hex dumbbells. Not being a smart arse, that’s a legit suggestion.

Or look at ptp total resistance band set. Good workout in itself.

Nvidia set the RRP on these?

  • Ahh, finally prices are getting better at least.

  • Hunter Courier Service - $108.66 (ETA: Between Aug 11th and Aug 13th)

    That's a no from me.

    EDIT: postcode 2430

  • I've really been missing the gym during lockdown, can someone who has bought these tell me if it's worth it quality wise? They don't need to be anything fancy but will they actually be that crappy?

I've not a big person so don't need much, I would be getting the 30kg total ones.

    • +1

If I had my time again I’d be just as happy with the PTP total resistance system as opposed to these. PTP pack is about $115 sub regularly with 25% off at the iconic.

  • I wouldn't buy anything from dshop, you might as well buy it from wish
