Freight Forwarding to Shopmate - Address Blocking Issue

Hi Ozbargainers,

I was wondering if you could relay your experiences with drop shipping companies other than Shopmate?
I've had a few US orders cancelled on me recently and I've discovered through the merchant that Shopmate's address was blocked due to some suspicious transaction against the address.

So because of a few bad apples, the entire Shopmate customer base won't be able to use that merchant.
Shopmate have only the 1 address so I'm forced to look for alternative drop shipping companies for this particular merchant.

I've had a look at the forum posts (that are few years old), and I couldn't find a post that recommended any services.

So any recommendations/anecdotes would be greatly welcome

They are usually called 'freight forwarding' companies, which may help with the search. Drop-shipping is something different.

If it helps I used Shipito half a decade ago and was happy with them.

    • Thanks djkelly69. I saw some Shipito reviews and they were not positive. But I'll keep them in mind

I use Shipito fairly regularly and they're fine by me. I always use DHL for delivery, which comes with insurance, not that I've ever had to use it. My only complaint is they charge GST on the goods you already paid GST at the merchant for, but if you add an ABN to your account they don't do that so I did get around it. I did initially try to use Shopmate but they refused to ship what I had purchased, so I won't be trying them again any time soon.

You might want to search for my post re shipito and insurance. TLDR - when you pay for insurance, they don't actually insure the package and if there's a claim simply say the carrier denied it and cut off any further communication.

      • Thanks apsilon. This is the sort of stuff we need to hear

Vpost is new and have 2 address for America. My detailed review is in this post but long story short, fine, just a bit slow.

    • Thanks HappyChild100. I don't mind slow at all (Thanks Covid!)

    • VPost is the same as shopmate (sing post) but has two addresses which can be handy if one of your addresses is being blocked by a merchant.

Shopmate is auspost but it’s a singpost product. Same warehouse, same address and pricing is similar.
