  • Ps5 compatibility?

    • same question

    • +1

It's under the 5500 MB/s recommended for ps5, BUT it fits in the ps5 and should work

    • +1

I think only the 7000s is on their recommended list criteria

      • +1

Added the 7000s, as that's also a good price.

    Great deal

  • I bought the 1TB version of this in the recent centrecom deal, it's in my new PC and is doing a great job. Heatsink is big so I can't use the heatsink that came with the motherboard, but I feel the heatsink that's included is better with the fins that are on it. It surprised me how hot it gets, so the heatsink is definitely appreciated.

    • +1

Wish it wasn't a bright bronze colour, really stands out in an all-black pc as you cant cover it with the motherboard heatsink

      • Isn't the heatsink an optional installation with this drive though, so you could use your preferred heatsink…

        • You might be right, people have talked about warranty being voided if you remove it but it looks like you can just put it back on for replacement.

      • +2

I have one, you can just remove the heatsink and put under m/b cover. Thats what I'm gonna do!

      • Yeah I feel you. I thought it was gonna really break the aesthetic of my build but actually it's started to grow on me a bit - like I can see it there versus being hidden away. The newer model is at the bottom of the post that has a black heatsink, but also is quite a bit pricier..

edit: pic of my build - you can decide for yourself if it looks good or not :) https://imgur.com/a/BwfCq20

  • there are videos on youtube of people throwing these into ps5 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qr4JDYjj-g )

    • They used a Samsung 980 Pro inside the Aorus heatsink in that vid.

      • the fk it came up when i searched the hdd i just brought (gigabyte 7000)
thats utter ass if you need to shuck a ssd for the heatsink in a ps5!!

gigabyte 7000 heatsink for sale if anyone wants - 70 aud

  • Would've bought in a heartbeat if only the 7000MB/s version was this price

  • is the update for the hard drive expansion released yet? i thought thats still coming soon

  • ponders

wait till black friday or not …

so is this offer today only ?

    • +1

if you can wait, Samsung 980 PRO best time is when they do cashback offer and stack with ebay code.

      • I'm waiting for the 990 Pro in a month or so. I figure I might as well get something ready for Alder Lake.
