These are the kind of shoes that outlive their owners.

    • If you don't consider the soles, then yeah

    • -2

u need to resole it once every 2 years and cost you more then $200.

      • +1

I've worn my comfort craftsman boots to work 5 days pw for the last seven years and I'm still on the original sole.

        • -3

dude don't do that ! even soles made out or iron won't last like that.
we all wear shoes we all know how long a ruble sole could last.
this "Comfort Craftsman Boots" is using a common ruble sole like others and worn out the same speed like the others.

also forget about the outsole, 7yrs 5 days pw, ur insole won't even last for that long.

          • @samelight: I'm pretty sure I know - better than you do - how long I've had my shoes, how often I've worn them and how many times I've had the soles replaced. Of course you're entitled to your opinion however I'm entitled to my facts.

            • -3

@cushydeskjob: u ar absolutely correct, u know ur situations better the anyone else.
i just don't belive there ar any daily shoes could last for 7 years without any repairs, unless u ar on whellchair.
you're entitled to your opinion but however if what u have said is too ridiculous, then ppl won't just swallow ur brainless propaganda.

      • +2

I only paid $80 after 5 yrs. Even if you have to resole it that often, you'd probably go through more money in new shoes.

        • -4

          another BS,
if u using the RM Williams's original sole, the sole itself will cost you more the $80, and plus $100-$200 labor cost on top of that.
          https://www.soleservice.com.au/collections/rm-williams-boot-…
you could ask them for a quote c if im wrong.
if u use some cheap sole and cheap labor, i would say $120+ for a full replacement, or $50 for the heel and $90 for the half sole(front part).

also if u planing to wear it for years, then u need to condition and wax it !
the time u need to spend, the wax/conditioner/oil u need to buy, new shoes that couldn't be resole would definitely cost you less!
if u insist RM Williams are more comfortable then thats another story, but when u talking about the long turn cost, resoleable shoes will definitely cost u more for sure.

          edit:
          https://www.rmwilliams.com.au/footwear/re-sole-heel-/BR00101…
there u go the price of the original soles AU$165.00, thats the price of the sole itself, not including labor.

          • @samelight: The $165 from RMW includes the sole, heel, labour and postage both ways.

            • -1

@cushydeskjob: thats a "special order" not "in stock", it took 4-6 weeks.
and if u contact them for a 1 week urgent, they will tell u add another $100.

          • +1

@samelight: lol dude calm down. its not a competition. If you hate RM's that much, don't buy them and move on. If you can't respectfully voice your opinions, we don't need to know.

I didn't say I got RM's original sole. Just used somebody local, got it back within the week. It's been 3 yrs now and they're still going strong.

Been this price at Gooley’s for the past few months, not really a deal especially when it’s been as low as the $416 mark on The Iconic in this time period…
The price rise from $595 on 1 August that was stated by a user here hasn’t eventuated yet though.

    • I mentioned the price rise based on an email from Blowes Clothing - see screenshot. The date coincided with their new season release but, you’re right, no increase on their boots.

  • Mamma mia, here we go again

  • -3

What it does actually? I mean surely should be able to clean my car and do my dishes and lawn as a minimum for that price.

    • +1

It ensures you get a cushy job with the liberal party so actually has a very high yield

    • What do you suggest instead? curious

Rubber soles are pretty standard on boots - Church, Loake, Barker, Trickers all use them.

      Stop trying so hard, king.

    • +4

Better grip and longer lasting. I would always prefer rubber soles over leather soles.

Imagine calling RM Williams pleb tier shoes haha

      shizmo a weak troll

  • Nothing beats the Allingtons 20% off first order + $30 AfterPay referral deal from a few months back. Managed to get a pair of under $400.

Still rocking my $300 + 2000 QFF point deal.

    Just FYI,

The ICONIC does price match, all you need to do is get on a live chat with them and provide them with a link. Just managed to get it price matched and they'll send me a link soon.

Just trying to see if I can get further 3.5% cash back through Cashrewards/Shopback. Not sure if that's possible with a code/link but no harm in trying.

A month ago, I bought RM boots from the Iconic, they had couple of wrinkles but still brand new, told them I want to return and they offered me $100 iconic credit or $80 cash back.

IMO, give that a shot first 😊
