Read reviews before buying as some say the upgrade isn't worth it. Sorry if there's something wrong with my post (1st time).
According to The Verge, the positives are good noise cancellation, good on-ear controls, airy fit, and bluetooth multipoint. The negatives are less bass than the 75t, sweat resistance is a downgrade, only right earbud can be used independently, and new eartips aren't as snug.

85T: multi point, smaller, fit is not good due to oval ear tips
WF-1000XM4: insane NC, long battery life, slightly bigger.
Would pick 1000XM4 over the 85T's. Wish sony was able to squeeze in multi point.
I got my WF-1000XM4's delivered for $270. So not much of a price difference.

Agreed, I'd love to upgrade my 65ts but these look horrendous.
I think they outdid themselves with the 65t. Everything since then has been incremental.
I’m in the market for some replacement 65t actives, they’re amazing. I thought they were failing but then I found the reset button, pushed it with a safety pin and they’re good as new.
I don't know why companies like to use rendered images to advertise their products, sometimes it just doesn't reflect it's actual appearance in real life. It's a metallic gold that looks really good especially in the sun.
Reviews suggest the mic quality is roughly same as 75t
earbuds mic always sucks for phone call. hard to fight just physics
I suggest skip 85t
75t active is just as good if not even better
85t is slightly heavier, easy to notice compared with 75t, and doesn't sut in ear so securely

Do not get these. 85t have a strange fit it's oval instead of the regular round, and they don't fit in the ear deep enough and they fall out easily. Especially at the gym. I had mine fall out multiple times on the dirty gym floor. I ended up using my old and cheap airpod tcq earphones.
75t have a better fit

IMO no if you already have 65t, or have a bunch of money to burn. (Or made sick gain in ALGO I guess)
75t was a big step up from 65t, get 75t active
85t is a very small upgrade from 75t if an upgrade at all. 75t is a more balanced product with more secure fit
75t is smaller than 65t and has a fantastic charging case. usb-c too
There were a lot of posts on various problems about problems with the 75. Almost a bit of a lottery. Also the ANC is not from dedicated hardware. The 85 addressed a lot of issues and was released very soon after the 75. Almost seemed like the bug fixed 75. Id avoid the 75 and go the 85

Just price matched at JB HiFi now and grabbed a pair for $213.
I'm waiting for the sony wf-1000xm4's to appear on The Good Guys Commercial. Should come in around $300 when they do. The reviews suggest that they blow everything else out of the park.
