  • Can anyone become a Costco member?

    • +1

Yes, with a $60 annual membership fee.

      • Oh,….thanks but no thanks.

        • You can easily make your money back with just 2 tank fills at Costco Petrol, amongst many other great benefits.

          • @itstuan: I live Miles away from Any Costco, so no go for me. Heck, not even allowed to drive 45 Klm to my nearest Aldi at the moment lol.

            • @ozhunter68: Yeah that makes sense. You can't imagine how excited I was when Costco was built 5 mins from my place.

          • +1

@itstuan: That's the primary reason I joined and continue with my membership.

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah it's awesome. So happy it is so close to me ^^

              • +2

@itstuan: All good, life goes on. I'm really glad I live near nature and open spaces, so as long as we are all happy……

  • Better off waiting for father's day specials and combine with the cashback offer ($80 for solo machines, $100 for bundles with aeroccino) from Nespresso (which Costco is not eligible for).

    • Not long until father's day, wouldn't the specials already be here?

      • Think they are? All the cashback are on this model, works out to be a similar price. There is already a redemption for 40 of pods if you're interested in that… I have been looking for a cheap machine for camping but want the original nespresso not the Vertuo

    • For those without Costco membership, Myer sale + Nespresso cashback offer is another (decent) option

Anyone tried both Vertuo and original nespresso machines?
Original lets you use other brands..

    • I have used both. Vertuo gives you a benefit of American style coffee while Original is great for espresso or latte and 3rd party pods. They both offer convenience.
I eventually moved up to a barista machine.

Have both (Vertuo was an unexpected gift). Overall Vertuo is MUCH better for us. Offers more options for longer pours which we like although no-one like the taste from the extra large pour capsule ALTO - nearly half a litre iirc.

Haven't experienced machine problems some reviewers have but ours is a second gen Nespresso, not this DeLonghi. Our mini is a DeLonghi. Still gives good service 4 years on.

For big (/lazy) coffee drinkers Nespresso machines can be had for $1 along with $45-60/month capsule plans. Haven't looked recently but there were also plans which gave extra pods if you already have a Vertuo, so it's wise to do your homework and check out all purchase options.

PS the big advantage that Costco provides is their returns policy. So if you have problems with this machine post-warranty you should be able to take it back. Worth checking prior to your purchase in case policies have changed though.
