I hate to say this but cool story bro!

  • What does OP stand for here, over-priced or orgasmic platypus?

      I was thinking 'over-powered'.

And I'm still waiting for that birthday voucher from tarocash. I registered twice and it's been more than a year.

      • yeah I got mine the first year but didne't get mine the second year :(

      • I emailed them when mine didn't arrive, and they sent one out the next month :) - just do the same.

        • did you register twice?

        • Only once, a few months before my b'day.

OP = over powered lolz~ the first year i never got one, the 2nd year i got 3 ….including my partners - also the sales people are sooooo pushy there , they non-stop tried to sell us all their new arrivals and spent like over an hour on me and at the end when i came to the checkout we poped out our vouchers and they were like u cant use 2 , my gf just said but there is 2 of us and they tried to stop us but in the end gave up and said thats fine with her walking away ~ so lolz

Yep OP allright. I must have been hit up 8-12 times in a 20 minute period -even after I was rude and said 'No, I don't need help with sizing'.

BTW, anyone got the sales scripts & strategy, like Harvey Norman uses (for the LOLz)?

tarocash is rubbish theres a reason its always on sale and the staff are way too pushy

You spent an hr at Tarocash?!

  • What ever I buy I make sure its what is best. When your going for ur job interview and its buying ur first suit why not take as long as u need :)

  • +5

You make sure you are best dressed for a job interview but purchasing a $30 suit from Tarocash?

    Ok, then.

    tarocash… shudder
it's so woggy and fully sik

Wow cyrax83….If an Aussie guy actually dresses well (as they do in Europe)as opposed to the thong and jeans uniform which is the norm here they,re "woggy"….GOD.I prefer my man to look descent to houso and typical Aussie guy any day (and yes,he does buy from Tarocash.)

    • +2

tarocash is not dressing well, it is incredibly tacky and has a definite wog vibe to it with the flashy shirts and white shoes. Oxford is one of the better australian designers for smart menswear.

      • +4

but they do also have more sober clothing as well, I can't approve of all their clothing but some of their jackets are really classy and smart.

    • houso?

Bogan dole bludgers given a house by the Government housing plan, Housos live in Govo Houses.

*I want to say, most people in that situation legitimately deserve it, unfortunately some do not…

where are your ozbargain manner people, first time I have heard Tarocash letting you spend the voucher in the same transaction. We should be applauding this guy's effort and commitment.

  • spawnpoint..definitely.ANYONE who gets something in their favour from an establishment should be given a thumbs up (i just call it service, but we all know, that,s non existent now ).And as we all know…with online shopping going the way it is,staff will just about sleep with you to get a sale if you start to walk out.I was just making an observation about the clothes.Yes,granted some are a concern (i would die if hubby wore it…not that i,ll ever have to be concerned with that…he wouldn,t)but all in all,a lot of it is nice.

"…staff will just about sleep with you to get a sale if you start to walk out…"

And which stores are we talking about (taking notes)

  • I found TaroCash to be very expensive.

Went in with my $50 voucher and was shocked to see shirts for $90 - $100.

Shirts that I would still not pay $40 for with voucher.

    • go to clearance stores or wait for their sales, shirts go down to like $20 each

    • At first glance, their stuff looks good, when you look closer, its not bad, but the finishing and details are not that great. However they are over-prices at full price. At discounted price, they are not too bad.

  • I "bought" 5 ties with last year's $50 voucher. Give them as birthday or Christmas gifts. Some of them are not that bad.

"Bought" a belt using the $50 the year before.

Free belt and 5 ties. Can't complain. Can't wait for this year's.

  • Yer nubzy is so right. I went to the DFO one and its like 60-70% of + other markdowns. The suit I got doesn't look shitty , its perfectly fine. Why would I need to spend $400 on a suit or so? that isn't needed in my opinion or at least not my first one. I do think the Oxford shop is awesome but I did what I could do best with coupons.

In my thought something more expensive doesn't mean that its better. These days you can get the same quality for almost the same amount in many areas if you are keen :). I lol so hard when ppl buy branded clothes and pay xxx much more. I think the suit is awesome that I got. I'll post a screen shot up later and u guys can even comment if you want :).

TBH Suits are something that you shouldn't skimp on. Since you will be wearing them for a few years, best to get a good quality one costing $400 than a $120 that doesn't fit well. I think there is a thread on OzB for tailor made suits costing ~$150-350.

I myself went to Stafford Direct and got a sub $500 suit

      • as long as it is not polyester and has a nice fit, that is all that matters.

    • +1

I think if this guy likes his suit and thinks it looks good then that's all that matters. You'd rather be confident and walk into an interview feeling good (and also knowing you only spent like 50 bucks on it). Once you get the job then sure go for a better quality suit (better fabric, cut and fit). IMHO it's hard to go wrong with a suit cheap or otherwise as long as its a semi decent fit and not shiny and sparkly. Good work with the voucher combo!

If I look bad in a $2000 suit, the end result is, I look bad.

  • I shall take that advice and see how I go, thank you :)

  • i forgot with my birthday voucher, it shows expires 28 feb, i went to the store yesterday he said it is expired already :(

  • Yer they wont be nice to you :( not like other stores…..

  • It doesn't look like the voucher is available anymore is it??

I can't see it on their sites anymore

  • +2

Well done to the people who made multiple fake accounts, they have suspended the birthday voucher.

    • This was too good a deal to rip them off, although I didn't see it as sustainable with no catchs.

Hopefully the change the conditions so that ID with name and DOB is required to claim.

  • wow really ~_~"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
