It could be based on email? I used my work address, so I should be getting other's parcel notification if so.

      • thats what i thought , but my email addresses differ between them
        weird

        • I always thought it was matched by my address. I had to add an address when I set up my MyPost account so I presumed that's how it knew what to add.

  • Matched with your email address.
You will need to setup an AP portal account with the main email you use for shopping.

You can add the app on your phone then manually add the tracking number also as you wish, once it's provided by the seller.

    • When i setup AP i used different email than ebay and amazon got on my file

Manually add the tracking ID from the seller/purchase to the app/AP account then.
You can track from there and will get updates accordingly. Super easy! 👍

    how do they know ?

You mean how do they know if a package is coming to your address you have regisited with them against your name? Hmmm gee I wonder how Auspost might match up packages coming to your address with your name and then alert you? Hmmmmm interesting.

    • I never register my work address on AP app or website. And yet I get notification. So something is fishy.

As per below, it must be phone number then.

    matched to you address.

Your My Auspost account has your name and address. Any packages sent to you will be listed in your account - doesn't matter who the sender/buyer is.

If your aunt from overseas/random creepy internet person/jv sent you something to you with your name and address, it'd come up in your account once its in Auspost's system.
