Another millionth clone of a cloned clone model of fossil that has terrible battery?

  • Wish these are gen 5 models

My wife has this. Was sooooooooooo slow I had to buy her a Gen 5. Seriously not worth it. The frustration will kill you.

Small price to pay to avoid Wife Aggro

disappointed with gen5 as well , so fragile.

Yeah, the 5e was slightly better but looks like the next wave (Samsung/Google) will be better but they burnt so many on the journey.

    Whats the normal price ?

    • 149 @ catch with free shipping.
It's on clearance at Harvey Norman as a discontinued model I guess

  • Agree with the above comments, Gen 4 is not worth it. Better to get gen 5 when it goes on sale (Gen 6 going to be released soon)

I have the Q Explorist Gen 4. For hundred bucks, Gen 4 is not too bad. I turned off constant heart rate measuring, AOD and any wrist gestures. Battery lasts about 1.5 day.

Most of the time it runs fine, can occasionally be sluggish with opening apps.

The most annoying part is, it is unpredictably slow. Imagine checking out at Coles with your watch, queue behind you, and it takes ages to pull up the NFC payment screen to the point where the EFTPOS terminal times out. You can hear the people behind you think "W*nker with his watch".

    • It's pretty slow most of the time. Like you said, for 100 bucks its passable.

But honestly, wait for the inevitable Gen 5 sales which should be coming soon with Gen 6 just around the corner. Everything except Ticwatch Pro 3, Ticwatch E3 (basically anything with a SD4100) will not get WearOS 3.0, so bear that in mind if shopping for that.

Bought one of these for $150 over a year ago and have used it for ~100 rounds of golf since (because covid), plus the occasional bike ride and gym workout for music.

It's always slow for a bit straight off the charger and I pair it with my phone for golf for better GPS and score input. Only now started to struggle getting through a slow round of 18 (i.e. 5+ hours always on bluetooth, location etc).

Otherwise it's fine and I'm very much considering getting a backup for this price.

I picked one up to tide me over until the GW4 arrives. It's fine.
