Why Are Tasty Toobs All of a Sudden So Popular?

I want one packet to eat.

Not to resell on Facebook like MANY others are currently doing. (https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/819959078710645/?r…)

Has the world gone mad? The new Toobs are Made in Poland…..

My local Woolies said their were people waiting outside before doors opened this morning to buy boxes.

I have no FOMO, I just want to try them because I was a loyal fan back in the 2000s .

I am fairly pissed off!!

What now? Haven't heard or tasted (or seen for that matter) any.

    • +2

I know this post may entice more people to want to try them, but at this point I would rather help this community than those SOBs out there!

A bit ordinary the last time I was able to recall. I prefer potato chips over these. :)

Some assholes are selling it on FB for $15 a bag. Seriously turning into Charlie/Hank from Me,Myself and Irene.

  • +2

    I’m guessing nostalgia…

Are you sure people aren’t lining up to get in early for groceries due to lockdowns? Still not ideal, but lining up to buy tasty toobs 🤔

    • +1

No the staff member said they were. I had to pull my Woolworths ex employee lingo to even get her to check out the back.
She told me two or three people were out the front at 6:50am that beelined to the Toobs. Bloody Noobs.

Hmmm strange, Cheezels are still better and made in Australia.

        • +1

The original ones were all about that sensation they give your mouth followed by the feeling that the inside of your mouth has beed shredded and bleeding.

I wonder if these new ones are as good?

  • dunno

Didn't realise they were a limited release, thought they were back permanently. I'd certainly buy a bag every now and then but no way I'm paying over normal price, in fact I'd probably only buy them when on sale like I do any junk food.

  • +1

We managed to get a few bags, they are not the same as they used to be, the cylinder shape has some curve to it…which is actually better, doesn't shred your mouth as much.

    • +1

Could that be why? They are an improvement and now people love them?
I used to love the fact it used to shred my mouth.

    • Can you put them on your fingers like cheezels? (Provided your fingers are same size)

  • Tried it it came back last time around, way to salty for me.

  • +2

They probably got thrown in for free with each dose of Pfizer from Pfzoland

  • +2

    I remember they taste like… 💩

    • +3

You know it taste like 💩, because…

      • +2

Reminds me of the taste left in my mouth after our interactions on here SF3! lol… Just joking.

        "Figuratively speaking"… Better? :)

  • polish toobs??? has the world gone mad???

meanwhile chicken in a biskit and drumstick in a biskit are also back!

  • +2

i hope they stock more of it as most places i have been sold out within the day that they go on the shelf.

if anyone sees them let us know.

See post from a decade ago about how times have changed. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84346

and of course jv is one of the first commenters…nothing changes

  • Lining up? $12 a pack? WTF?
There's been no shortage at my local Woolies the past week, didn't even think they'd be in "demand" like this?

When In a biskit comes to an end I guess they'll go stupid with pricing as well?

  • What flavour are they?
I want to try them (when they are on sale of course) to try them.

    • +2

Supposed to be tomato. Fairly tangy from what I remember.

  • +1

For anyone in WA, Spudshed had heaps of 150g bags for $2.99. Don't think it's a great price but if they're so hard to come by?

  • +1

    hey mate,

i just did a click and collect for IGA in my area,

on the pick up invoice it says i ordered 5 but only supplied 2.

so hopefully i got 2 packs.. i'm gonna pick up at midday and fingers crossed i get a couple of packs

    • Good luck with it, if you get them please think of me when your eating them. Im with you!

      • just openned by bag… MMm so delicious,,, now i need to pee .
        what area are you in?

        • +2

          Melbourne!
I've heard more are on the way. Race is on

          Toobs vs Pfizer Vaccine.

          • +1

@iNeed2Pee: i think you'll have a better chance at getting toobs.

            • +1

              @Archi: Pfizer beat Toobs.

              • @iNeed2Pee: i finished my 2 bags… on the hunt again.

                • @Archi: I found one bag but I was too afraid to open them.
Came home and saw the misses eating them, felt like I lost a love one 🤣🤣🤣

  • +1

    Still looking for Toobs.
This situation is worse than Pfizer supplies.

    • +2

Legit. I have already had my first dose.

      Pfizer 1
      Toobs 0

  • +1

I found a box at my local. I took em all.

Then realised other woolies had them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • +1

I've checked for them every week while doing the regular shop. Never seen any hint of them. I'd like to try them as I did like them back when they used to be a thing but no way I'm buying from a scalper.

      • I checked your location.
If you were in Melbourne I would have donated a packet to you.

        • Thanks but I'm not too worried if I find them or not.

    • $4 / 150g bag??

      • $3 from Woolies.
Then use a family staff card for the added 5%. :)

  • Just had my first Australian made toobs. Dare I say that they taste stale like the reject shop copies while being months before the best before date.

Toobs made in Poland I have had in 2021 taste like the original and Australia should be making it to the old texture and taste because I won't buy another Australian made toobs until I hear it change

    • I finally got a pack but they were the Aussie made ones. Taste was OK, close to what I remember but it has been a while. Didn't seem stale at all. The texture and size however was way off. I can accept the size but the texture was too hard IMO. I wouldn't buy them again which is a shame.

  • Just had my wisdom out, will need to wait to try the new ones before I (profanity) the other teeth 😂
