Deal is no good for NSW, VIC, QLD, and ACT residents atm :-p Don't think anything will change before the expiry date 9th Sept.
One of the rare deals that benefit mostly WA and SA (unlike the TV deals that don't ship over west) ;-)
    Excellent deal otherwise.

    • Deal is no good for NSW, VIC, QLD, and ACT residents atm

      Why no good for QLD?

      • Sorry I don’t live there but when I read early this week, isn’t there some sort of restriction imposed on the major QLD LGAs?

        • Ah, lockdown was lifted on the 8th of August. No problem buying phones for us. :)
          (for now……)

  • Oh my lord, must be a joke !

Vic is under lockdown, how can I get it in store !

    • isn't it mobile phone an essential service?

      • I would like to argue that it is, but the power that be don’t think so. You can come for click&collect but not to browse or sign up plan. Apparently liquor stores are more essential ;-)

        • well, I don’t think it is browsing if you ring store staff prior coming and told them exactly what you want

        • Liquor stores are a bad example. Alcoholics will literally die without them. Bunnings and the reject shop on the other hand…

      • Common sense would dictate if your phone broke it would be ok….

      • Yep and lotto shops are also very essential:)

  • Anyone buy with HN outright with Product care experience???

Who (in TGG) in the right mind of having the deal in store only when approx half the population are in some sort of lockdown ATM????? Unless they try to sell something they don't want to sell????

It’s likely part of their arrangement with Telstra/TGG not really having the ability to process something like this online.

In saying that, over 18 months into various lockdowns now you’d think they would have worked on an alternative

  • Are both TGG and Harvey both open in store for commercial like Bunnings, anyone know?

  • Hopefully they have a gift card deal to go with the plan before the promotion ends

  • Sorry for being stupid .. but how does the seal work and what is the minimum payment required to pay if we try to cancel the telstra plan after preordering the handset.

  • Remember when a phone was free with a plan?

    • They were never actually free, it was built in to the cost of the plan. The dollar figure was similar but you got less compared to today. Now plans come with more data than many people need (free wifi isnt such a big deal nowadays), and unlimited calls and texts.

    • I find it funny comments around this I worked in a Telstra phone shop right around the time everything changed over to “cap” plans where you could get an $49/$79/$99/$129 cap etc and pay off your mobile and random accessories over 24 months.

Then they started subsidising the cost of the handset into those plans so everyone thought ooo I’m getting it for free when in reality prior they were just grossly overcharging you for the phone plans portion

Now we have circled back to repayments being seperate from the plan! What a worldddd

    • yea n the phones flipped as well, long live startec
