  • Thanks does the T indicate Telstra?

If I want to use the phone with a TPG SIM card (which I think runs on the Optus network) - is this the right phone or do I want one which is the S5830 without the T?

Optus has been selling the pre-paid (locked to Optus?) phone for $179 with free delivery but it's currently out of stock.

    https://www.optus.com.au/shop/prepaidmobile/samsung/galaxyac… - that one runs on UMTS2100MHz/900MHz

AustPost catalog has this for $199. If you have the AustPost 20% off voucher it will be around $159. Only disadvantage is locked to Optus for 6 months.

I had this phone locked to Boost (Optus) network then unlocked through a website for around $15, way better than waiting 6 months or paying $80.

    • wat website?

Thanks jamesvre. Can you divulge the website?

rifter - thanks also but I don't have the 20% off voucher. Others might though.

  • How does this compare to the Gio? Gio has lower spec camera and smaller screen - otherwise is it the same?

    • youtube the gsmarena phone reviews they should help you decide!

  • I haven't used the Gio but I really like the Ace it has everything I need in a phone. decent camera, good screen size. Overall hey are very similar in specs.

  • In case, you wonder why there is a price drop of the Galaxy Ace?!

Galaxy ACE 2 is going to be available in Europe soon and to Australians in a few months so retailers are clearing their stocks atm. http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/mobile_phones/samsung/g…
