haha yep a bit ridiculous.. i ended up buying something else and got a much better price than anywhere else
I was tempted to get a varex but didn't want to spend more $$$ for the remote. The 'sale' price is about the same as RRP too
I have one (not wrx though). I've hard wired it to a switch in cabin. Works well.
Does it come with everything in the box to wire it?
Yes it comes with the keyring remote control type thing and a black box that you plug into the cigarette socket. I turfed that and wired it up to a switch.
So yes, to wire it their way. TO wire it hardwire you need extra wire, spade connectors and a switch. I can find install ivdeo if you want it.

@Obake: It comes with the control box for a cig socket plug in. I just undo that cig socket. Strip the wires and use a add a fuse connection and wire it up into the fuse box. It's a compete reverseable connection with zero cables in sight. Could also wire it into a rocker switch to mount into the car, I've done this before connecting it to the fuse box panel so you can adjust the varex without looking for the control
The control box and remote come included with all varex systems. It's only the smart controller that doesn't and if meh anyway
