  • is it able to delivery to WA

    • not sure, you can do a fake order checkout to test

    • their website says only Melbourne and Sydney

  • has anyone ordered from them? Are these for stir fry? they are really thin….

    • +2

      As per the website's suggestion:

You can cook these slices in a stir-fry, hotpot, sukiyaki or shabu shabu. You can also grill these slices on a charcoal grill or even just on a cast iron skillet, and then you can wrap some enoki mushrooms or vegetables and sauces with them and eat it as a mini-wrap You can even cook these slices and then shred them and add them into salads!

      • +1

Wrap enoki mushrooms up to about thumb size pan sear with butter then turning them over occasionally then when it’s about 80% cooked add sake cover to cook fully add some crushed garlic and soy toss then turn off heat cut in half and serve.

    • Yes its very thin, kbbq or hotpot thickness 1.5mm

    • +3

Yes, it is like a very quick fry / hotpot type. I bought a lot of it last time and tried it, wasnt a fan at all, Hard to be tasty or wagyu when its cut so thin. Only really useful as a hotpot i reckon.

      • we dont really eat much hotpot….

      • +2

        Wagyu is wasted on hotpot……

        • And stir fry too imho

    • I would recommend to do your stir fry separately. Then pan fry the meat quickly to cook beef slices. Place into your stir fry vegies before serving.

  • +6

Hi, could you please advise what cut of meat this is?

    • +1

      Looks like squared off topside

      • Could also be very thinly sliced chuck roll (which is one of the cheapest wagyu cuts). It's a bit hard to tell, and no info on the website.

  • Code doesn't work anymore

    • Working for me increase the order >$100

      • Just tried to place the order and it said the coupon limit has been reached.

        • 1st order only, you need to create a new email if you want to use it.

  • +1

Can't wait for this place to open its Melbourne warehouse.. gonna get me some Japanese A5 yeaahhh

    • Cries in regional QLD. Don't know if I'll be able to order this first or go to Japan first.

    • Looking forward to it also.

Their Australian and Japanese Wagyu prices look reasonable.

  • NSW and ACT only i believe

  • Where is this Aequitas?

  • +1

It may be wagyu beef but no mention on which cut it is. Scotch, chuck, sirloin, leg, etc…

  • +1

These would be good for gyudon aka beef bowl

  • +1

Sorry, we do not have enough "Australian Wagyu Beef Slice MBS6-8" in stock to fulfil your order (0 available). We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    • +1

yeh soz I bought the last one

      • the available amount keeps changing in cart yet still won't let me order even though there is apparently enough..

        • fairly sure it's done now. I had 2 in cart, went to pay then it told me there's only one left

    • +2

It's price per pack of 500g, why would you mention $35/kg if they don't even offer that option?

      • I understand why he mentioned per kilo as that's a standard unit. But the rest of the comment was just rubbish.. username checks out?

      • +1

why would you mention $35/kg if they don't even offer that option?

Have you ever bought meat at any point in your life?
I don't buy gold by the ounce either but that is the standardised unit of comparing value.

  • OOS

  • Can’t argue with wagyu

  • I snooze, i lose

  • +1

GODDAMN IT who bought it all

  • Am I overpaying for Wagyu?
I usually pay $250/kg for MB9 Scotch fillet and that seems to be about $60 more than this joint.

    • Do you mean raw or at a restaurant?

      • Raw - From Vic Markets

    • Depends where it is from and whether it is dry aged.
      https://wagyubeefaustralia.com.au/range/australian-dry-aged-…

      • It's been a couple months so I'm not sure. I don't believe it's dry ages.

        • +1

If you're paying $250 a kilo but not knowing what you're paying for, I think thats a problem.

      • +1

Dry aged would be way more since so much of the weight/moisture is lost

    • Not if you know what cut you're getting and the cuts are thicker for steaks for example.

    • Possibly, yeah. I thought MB9 scotch was more around the $175-190/kg mark

    • You are paying too much I run a restaurant and Osawa supply to us but with current lock down Osawa has branched out into selling retail vic’s meat can not compete in the Japanese restaurant market compare to Osawa

    • This is likely an inferior cut of meat like outside flat or chuck roll, so not possible to compare.

  • -1

I get it from them for this price every time, as well as the 10% off, so where is the deal sorry?

  • Back in stock again! Just got 5 packs
