What Motorcycle Do You Have?

Got inspired by the car guys on the other thread and was just curious to see if we could get a 2 wheeled version going. We'll even go one up with a poll to see if they are street, track (inc off-road), or a combination of both? šŸ

Watch out, this is a sneaky way to tell who is who.

Remember the ā€œbikiesā€ response so often given.

    Now we will know

Poll needs to separate it out a bit more. Add stuff like dirt bike unregistered, dirt bike registered, commuter, postie bike, cruiser, Harley.

    • Also dirt bike Rec Registered.

nothing wrong with the revo! Crazy smooth motor and refined for a 400. Love the VTEC kick!

    My favourite: KTM 990 ADV
    Most thrilling: GasGas EC300
    .

  • CBR600RRā€¦ With Akro exhaustā€¦
    LOVED IT!!!
    But sold it and bought a scooterā€¦ (I know I knowā€¦)
But tbf - I get a lot more use out of the scooter.
Easy to manoeuvre, huge storage under seat and massive lockbox on backā€¦
And far more comfortable for the wifeā€¦
Just doesnā€™t look nearly as sexy as the CBR šŸ˜©

    • I had one of these too, loved it to bits. 2007, blue and white with Akro exhaust

    Kawasaki Ninja 1000
    Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 2008
    Suzuki GXSR 600 2013 Trackbike
    KTM 250EXC

Needless to say at 20 this was not a good financial decision and am down to nil bikes :'(

    • JC I just saw the pic, did you own them all at once!!! Were they all registered bar the gixxer?! šŸ˜²

      • Aha, can't remember how much it all cost. Blew through a lot of money on track riding too. But I was young and at university at the time so then was the time to do it.

  • WR450F here. Haven't ridden since Feb though because of busyness initially and now lockdown.

Such a good bike though. Charge the battery, start it up and go. Doesn't matter how long it's been sitting there. My mates KTM on the other hand…

  • K1300R & R1250GS Adventure

  • 2008 Yamaha FZ6S converted to naked.

Christā€¦ where do I startā€¦ Iā€™ve owned about 50ish motorcycles in my life (currently own 6), from 50cc scooters up to 1800cc cruisers. A mix of track bikes and road bikes. Never been one for dirt bikes except speedway and flat trackers.

I really have a penchant for early 2000ā€™s Ducati because I like a challenge and basically itā€™s the fastest way I could think to turn my disposable income into becoming a zero balance.

  • bahahahh… ooooh yes please the first 999s still have a special place in my heart though I never did own one and probably never will. Too much effort but what a special piece of art it was back in the day.

    • I have a 999 with a 1098 radial mount caliper forks and single sided swingarm conversion. How the bike should have been made in the first place.

      • Sounds amazing. Was there anything wrong with the front end or are the 1098 forks just better? How much did the conversion (inc the new swingarm) change the handling before and after? Did the wheelbase change much?

        • +1

The front forks have the radial mount calipers, so I was able to install the much much superior Brembo M4 Monoblock brake calipers. The forks are almost identical to the original forks apart from the caliper and axle mounts.

And as for wheel base, maybe a mm or 2 change, and for the handling, who knows, I'll never be able to ride it hard enough to know what the limits of each setup ever was. But anything had to look better than the cast grey aluminum swingarm it had on it, and the '05 box section swingarms are rare as rocking horse poop and cost about as much as Bolivia's GDP. 848/1098 swingarms are a dime a dozen.

  • It depends are you going to be riding it as a road bike or a track bike Road bikes aren't as good on tracks and track bikes aren't as good on sealed roads so buy for what you will mainly ride Note track/road bikes are basically track bikes on the road and road bike on the track not the happy medium you may think
