+1 Yamaha Receivers are awesome. This would be a great buy if I didn't already have an RXV3081 + SHARC eARC (to give me Dolby Atmos over ARC). Been very happy with it, way better than the Onkyo I had before which cost >$3k

Last receiver was a RXV 3900. Was awesome and worked great with my beast of sub from SVS! Sadly broke down after 10 years.

Yep, gone from a RX-V1800 to a new RX-V6A. Good gear, never had any issues and they sound awesome.

      • Thinking of upgrading my Pioneer VSX-930 too the RX-V6A, app/firmware support is none existent plus I use to have issue with BT connection. Otherwise everything else has been ok. Currently able to purchase it for under $800 new plus hearing that hardware will be upgradable via Yamaha for 4k120hz has me tempted. What's your opinion on my dilemma? CBF spending thousands atm lol.

        Thank you.

I've been loving it and it delivers excellent sound and features for the price. Granted I've come across from none of the newer tech like Spotify streaming, DAB radio, BT, wifi connectivity and so on - although the V1800 was a beast and a high quality receiver. I got ithe V6A as I upgraded from my old Viera plasma to a new C1 OLED and wanted a received to follow HDMI connectivity/4k upgrade, etc. Don't think you will regret it…

@Tock: Thank you for your feed back it's greatly appreciated. I just recently upgraded my 2010 Jap Panasonic 55in Neo Plasma (still going strong in the garage now) to the Sony 65in X90H & I'm enjoying the 4K content immensely. I had my eye on the 75in but didn't want to spend the extra ~$1k for 10in more. You must be loving the C1 experience.

            Thank you.

That Shark eARC device sounds great! Thanks for hinting at it. Will keep it in mind for when I upgrade to a new TV.

I did check there first and they were out of stock for a while now. Page hasn’t been updated to reflect.

I've got one of these, bloody great bit of kit.

Just a warning though, no hdmi 2.1 which means no 120hz 4k via the receiver if you wanted it for xbox/ps5.

with the A4A, A6A, A8A new range (HDMI 2.1) coming out imminently, i'd expected the 2080's to be more heavily discounted than that.

    to each their own….

Looks nice but I'm holding for HDMI 2.1.
    Will be Yamaha or Denon
