Everyday Pay from Woolworths

Woolworths now supports a new payment method at some stores called Everyday Pay. The way this works is you use the latest version of their Everyday Rewards app; in the Card tab there is a Wallet area where you load at least 1 credit(/debit?) card payment method as well as various Woolworths Wish eGift Cards.

When you pay in store there is a barcode presented on the register checkout screen. You scan the barcode with your Everyday Rewards app and the payment is deducted from credit available on loaded egift cards and then, if the balance on them is exhausted, the remainder will be charged to the credit card you have loaded in there.

Paying this way your Everyday Rewards card is automatically used and, if you have chosen, electronic receipts are automatically stored electronically in the Everyday Rewards app.

eGift cards and the loaded credit card are connected to the logged in Everyday rewards account and synchronised to multiple devices logged into that account, so if your family is using the same cards only one person needs to upload them now, no need to distribute the cards for each person to load into the Money app.

Having just used this I find it an extremely convenient way to pay.

To my surprise when using this today I also found they do currently allow purchases of gift cards in stores with egift cards in Everyday Pay.

Is this for Android only at the moment? I've got the latest iOS app version and there isn't an option to add gift cards or debit cards. Just the usual Add to Wallet option (which adds your ER card to the Apple Wallet).

I've been adding my gift cards into the Woolworths Money app but if I could do it all within ER instead, I'd rather that.

    • i dont see it anywhere on my s10

The supermarket’s new digital wallet offering called ‘Everyday Pay’ is currently still in the trial phase in select locations, but will likely be rolled out nationwide imminently.

The digital wallet will be available via the Everyday Rewards app (as a digital copy of your Everyday Rewards card) and will allow shoppers to collect rewards points and make payments at checkout.

Cant see it in the app

Current version of the iOS app (21.12) supports it, but possible that they've only unlocked it for certain accounts, probably people that shop at particular stores that support it. This is what the bottom of the Card tab looks like when it is available.

    • Cool, not yet here, thanks for the extra info

    • Another day, another paywall… sigh

opens laptop to bypass it while giving News Corp the 🖕🏼 😏

      Thanks for the link though!

      • Oh sorry, I use a paywall blocker so didn't realise :(

All good! I do the same which is why I flicked the link to my Mac so I could read it there :-)

  • Not on my Android app. Could be a trial for some stores only.

    this is a winner

  • Can I ask which store you were able to use Everyday Pay? Keen to give it a crack with some of the credit I have on my everyday rewards card.

  • Can you use your saved up everyday reward dollars as a payment method?

Can you still use this to buy gift cards and pay with gift cards via Everyday Pay?

The app auto adjusts the brightness of the Pay tab. It is just bright too look at and use it to make payments. sigh.

  • I feel like I saw a promo for it last night for bonus points or something if I set up and used Everyday Pay, but now that I've set it up I can't find it anymore. Am I going loopy?

    • Yep there is one
“Collect 5x points when you pay with everyday pay”
      Til June 5

Check your “ready to shop” under Boosters in the app

  • Any ideas why they want so many users on the new system? Are the fees required cheaper than that for processing contactless tap and go payments?

    • I think other than ease of use, it's primarily a data collection exercise where the spend is matched 1:1 towards the everyday rewards account.

      • If I always scan everyday rewards when I shop already then not sure what info they would gain

Maybe if we use everyday pay then wollies dont have to pay fees to other payment processor but use their own, hence reduce costs?

  • Everyday pay with gift cards works really well still.

Does anyone know if there is a coles equivalent? Or if not, what is the best way to use gift cards at coles?

  • I must be 2 years late to the party but this is fantastic for stocking up on giftcards at a discount - no need to be at the checkout for 10 mins entering the giftcard numbers and much easier to keep track of them.
