I'm not playing as much nowadays but there's a few YT videos for returning and new players.
I'd recommend levelling up to 40 which is the max level and gear max. You'll then have to max the attributes or swap them.
There are events (needs to be activated) and seasons. There are very good exotic weapons and gear through these and purchasable gear boxes. Current season includes the Memento backback which is a must have but finishes in a week or so.Cheers mate, yea, nah, not gonna hit Lvl 40 in a week. It's good to know that I don't need the expansion to hit L40. I was wondering if I should buy the xpansion now, or just wait till I'm Lvl 28-30 instead? You do need expansion to hit 40. Otherwise 30 is as far as you can get. Highly recommend this game and the DLC but burnt myself out on it.

You can go to NYC straight away on lvl30 with this DLC. Then you may need 1 hr/lvl to reach lvl40, and about 2 hrs to unlock SHD watch level.

That's how I feel about Anno. Thankfully uPlay is the second best launcher after Steam so it's not too bad.
I'd put uplay as one the worse launchers. Not as bad as using the Microsoft store but still below EA Origin.
uPlay isn't perfect but it has more features than other launchers apart from Steam. And at least achievements can earn you something.
