      • Thanks for the offer (honestly) but I'll have to decline. I'd be very tempted to get one if it was a bargain (see below) but at $310 it doesn't really hit the mark.

  • Static ice shows the printer is worth approx $40 from Umart.

    This makes the net book $309 which doesn't feel like a bargain for me.

      I had a feeling this might be the case.

      Dual-cores don't hit bargain status until they're sub-$250 afaik.

      The vendor's "printer spec's" page shows their price for it as $39
      (so, they seem to be up-front about the value of the printer).

      To the vendor (or to HP, in any case), the value of the printer is (some) cartridge-sales… for the life of the printer… :-/

      To vendor: I'd pay maybe $200 for the netbook, incl shipping to me.

      If that seems even a bit extreme, research "Moore's Law" ;-)
