I just received an email from Reading Eggs - I think they got egg on their face, and didn't eggspect so many people to add the codes, causing an uneggspected drop in revenue due to free codes used.

Dear Parent,

This is a courtesy email to advise you that Reading Eggs recently had a technical glitch in the system, which resulted in users being able to enter a large number of Reading Eggs promotional free access codes.

We would like to inform you that the technology glitch has now been fixed and your account has also been amended to reflect our policy, as per our terms and conditions, which allow users only to enter a maximum of two promotional codes.

We hope you will agree that Reading Eggs makes a real difference in helping children learn to read and that you will want to buy a subscription when you free trial period expires.

    The company is not reneging on anything by refusing to honour multiple codes that are entered with the intention of abusing an offer.

    Instead of scrambling to poach all the free codes, maybe people should have shelled out for some codes?

    I just got my email today. I don;t know how many days are left. My daughter is gone until Tuesday so I will get her to check.

    I was able to check her results however. She is 9 and they know that. They say she has a reading age of 5.5 years. WTF. She got ABOVE the upper band on her NAPLAN for reading and did well in some tests that are only done in the elite private schools - only one kid got above her in literacy on that one. I saw her playing a lot of games on reading eggs. I don't know what this is about, but I am glad they have pulled the pin. They are obviously crap.
