Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 128GB $627.24, 5G 128GB $735.24 @ Samsung Education Store (Membership Required)

220

The Samsung Education Store are currently offering an extra 10% off the S20FE range with the purchase of any mobile accessory in the same transaction. Discount is applied at checkout. Offer ends 01.09.2021. T&C's Apply. You may also be able to get an extra $50 off if you sign up to the newsletter and get emailed a code, but this tends to be unreliable.

To get the above prices add the cheapest (useful) accessory they have which is a USB-C headset adapter for $15.96. You could pay a bit extra and get a S20 FE case instead for $31.20 which would increase the above prices by $15.24 on both models. There are other accessory options like wall chargers and car chargers.

You need a .edu.au email address to be eligible to register for the Samsung Education Store.

Note that the 5G 256gb model is OOS so I haven't included it.

Edit: You can also use the Trade Up program with eligible devices to reduce the price further.

  • I am looking to buy Note 20 Ultra. I wish this additional 10% was applied on that too, but it isn't.

    Same for Government partnership store.

I can't get over how well this deal stood up. I only paid $599 for the non-5G version Decmber last year…

      • This version has the Snapdragon processor. I believe that deal was for the old Exynos processor.

Lots of reports of chip shortages and delays. I'll believe this device exists when it's for sale.

      • Yeah it's definitely delayed this year. If there weren't any delays, September would be the month the new device would be coming out.

I guess they're focusing on their higher profit devices this year; their Fold 3 and Flip 3 phones seem to be doing quite well with pre-orders.

It's been cheaper than this . For a year old phone it's should be around 500 mark to buy..not a deal

Lol. Ok bro. It's basically the best value flagship you can get at the moment. But feel free to not participate.

  • The only thing stopping me from purchasing is the update guarantee, it launched with A10 I think, so 3 years is A13.

But this is the 2021 model, that came with A11 out-of-the-box, so will it get A14 or is A13 the last? I keep my phones for 4 years (with custom ROM support), so I'd like the longevity.

    • I assume it'll be Android 13. It's based on the original release date of the device. If updates are important to you, wait for a newer device, or buy a S21. But having said that, your phone will function perfectly fine on an Android release that's one behind the current. You'll still be getting security updates in the 4th and 5th years. And if you dabble in custom ROMs there's sure to be support for a device as popular as this.

      • S21 is out of my price range, I might wait for the A52s, the A52 that I've used is annoying, the virtual proximity sensor is stupid.

The 5g is too expensive, and I don't need 256 GB storage.

        • I'd much rather be one version of Android behind on a flagship device than deal with a poor performing device on the current version of android. Buying last years S20FE over a current A52 is a no brainer for me. S20 followed by daylight.

          • @wombat81: But you are on current Android anyway (A11 in this case), you aren't behind at all.

What you are doing is saving money by buying last years flagship instead of this years. I don't have any problem with this, I just like longevity, if that means buying a mid-range phone but newer, I'll be ok with that.

            • @GTR12: But the issue is how you define longevity. A 2020 flagship will be a much more usable device in 4 years time than a 2021 mid ranger.

  • how to get a edu email if not studying?

    • I don't think there's an easy way. You need to try and find a friend who is studying or who works at an educational institution.

Thanks OP, got the Galaxy S20 FE + case for $592 after using the $50 newsletter voucher. Been on the look out for them since Officeworks and JBHIFI put up the price back up to RRP recently.

    • No worries. Glad you got one.

    • how did you get it this low?

      • Galaxy S20 FE is $679 in the store, 10% off with Father's day mobile accessory discount, plus the $50 voucher for signing up to the newsletter.

        • I dont think they've been giving out the voucher for a while now.

          • @Ragnarok1983: The voucher is still available. The popup still appears when you enter the store. Actually getting the email containing the voucher code is very hit and miss, though. That's why I didn't include it in the deal.

@Ragnarok1983: I got one a couple days ago.

          • @Ragnarok1983: I got one last week, you email them after 48 hours if you haven't received it, says that when you sign-up.
