Update: 07-Sep-2021

General announcement from ESR Gear store representative as follows

Dear OzBargainers,

Recently some OzBargainers who purchased the AEVO Hair Clipper reported stolen credit card information. Upon hearing this, our security team was assigned investigate the incident.

On August 28th, we posted a deal on OzBargain for the hair clippers and found that some users in the comments reported that Kaspersky had detected malware on our site. We isolated the infection and the malware was fully removed first thing in the morning of August 29th.

Our website and servers do not collect, transmit, or process cardholder data of any kind. All payments to esrgear.com are processed using a payment processing service on their own servers. We have reported the issue to Stripe, our payment processing service, and they are assisting in the investigation. At the same time, we have hired an incident response team to conduct a thorough investigation of our network and security practices. We are still unsure of how the malware was able to get between this data and the payment processing platform Stripe, but through our ongoing investigation we will find out.

If you are concerned about the potential leak of your payment information, we recommend contacting your bank and reviewing your recent transactions.

We are very sorry for this incident and highly appreciate the user feedback, which led to the quick detection and removal of the security threat. We will continue to improve our website security and will report further findings of our investigation as soon as they become available.

Sincerely,
The ESR Team

Still waiting, and from what AusPost told me, might be another month.
I guess this is all down to "Posted Incorrectly" as advised by AP. If so, wish the vendor had posted the bloody clippers correctly.
Not likely to risk this again, even at a cheap price

    • Most if not all had Posted Incorrectly from AP. Their system went a bit loco at the time

  • Got mine delivered yesterday after sitting with Australia Post for 15 days! Put in complaint Wednesday and delivered 2 days later! Not ESRs fault! I will have to wait for my sons report on how good it is then get back to thread!

    • Same here. Just put in a missing item inquiring and shipping status updated an hour later !

      • "customer enquired about item" statuses always get added to a tracking number instantly after you raise it on the phone.

Can second that. Luckily have payed through PayPal. Given them 4 days and then the case will be escalated to a claim.

  • I haven't received any details since order confirmation. Are people getting any item shipped notification?

Rep - can you check the status of my order 328233

  • I’m waiting for another set to come up for the FIL. If anyone has an unopened box… it would be appreciated.

  • Still patiently waiting for mine. Submitted a ticket on their website. See what they say.

    • An update: Received 1/10/21 after messaging them on 22/9/21
Received a partial refund due to delay which was kind of them.

  • After 3 weeks being stuck in Melbourne and a complaint to Australia post mine is finally moving Thnx for nothing AP

Still havent got it yet. Waited 3 weeks before I contacted esrgear about it and they offered to refund 20% of the purchase price OR I can wait for item to arrive. This to me sounded scammish. Lol what if item doesnt arrive then 20% refund only ffs?

As anticipated for the price, the shaver that I received has broken after 3 uses. A few comments for those that may see this deal again in the future:
    - The item description says that it is waterproof. I highly doubt it is and the rep above has commented that it is actually water resistant, but has not updated the listing. My device either had a screw missing on the handle or there is a breather hole. So either poor QA or the device was never designed to be waterproof.
    - Mine failed when the extendable blade length adjustment would not retract, followed by the distinctive feeling of something breaking inside and now the shaver is very loud, particularly at the shortest length.

I have submitted a ticket for warranty support and will update this comment with the outcome

You get what you pay for…

    • ESR refunded the full price as there were no replacements in stock.

The shaver will be going in the bin. Shame.

    Watch out for transactions involving
    Domino's pizza
    Uber
    Bws

    *****DO NOT Buy***** SCAMMER ALERT******

DO NOT fall for this company's shitty scammy "statement". They still haven't made any security improvements on their website. These guys are Big time scammers. Last week I had a problem with this clipper I purchased(the switch came off loose), I then sent and email to their support team. The support responded saying they will issue a refund to me, and instead today(4th Nov 2021) my bank called me and said there were multiple attempts of unauthorised transactions in amounts ranging from $500 to $700 from Hong Kong. This proves that ESR support/reps are somehow affiliated with scammers, or they're the real scammers and pretending they know nothing about this(by issuing this fake scammy statement in the post). Shame on you lot! This company needs to be banned on OZB.

    • Hello fakejv, thanks for your comment gain. I just replied to your previous comment, please kindly check here and provide us with your order number. Thanks again.

        Farr-cough you scammer!

I've already sent an email to your [email protected]

        Start your "investigation" from there

        Order number is- 324007

Are you going to scam me again and run those unauthorised transactions on my card again now? You scum!

  • Ye I would agree, I got a transaction alert from overseas in UK for $2000, Reporting this to the ACCC

    • +1

don't waste your time. oseas seller, ACCC couldn't care less. They can't even manage the local workload anyway

  • +1

Bumping the thread for everyone - just got a text message at 4 am asking me to authorize a few sus transactions. Seems like the credit card I used for this transaction was compromised and scammers attempted to purchase a lot of high value items in the USA.

So it looks like the credit card deals are still being used by scammers. Please cancel your cards if you have used them for this purchase!

  • got done for $250 in apple transactions

  • I paid via PayPal but did get cc scammed a few weeks back. I assume it was linked to this deal then
