AliExpress Free Shipping, Orders Consolidated and Arrived in 16 Days

I ordered some cheap items from different stores and those were with free shipping. Shipping advice was they could arrive sometime early October (60days), these arrived via Australia Post on Saturday.

Have been reluctant to order from Aliexpress this year because of lengthy shipping times.

Curious if any others have experience the same with recent orders? Or did I just get lucky?

I mostly just use the free 'AliExpress Standard Shipping' method, and sometimes I wait 2 months, sometimes I wait 2 weeks.

  • I've had a few things over the past 12-18 months.

Always used free shipping, or the cheapest method (if paid shipped int required).

Some items have arrived in 10 days, others have taken 2+months.

  • i find china post ordinary small packet plus is usually very quick

cainiao super economy global is the slowest

epacket & aliexpress standard shipping are also ok but cost a little bit more

I think there is a container in Shenzhen marked Sydney, another marked Melbourne etc.
I think the same in Shanghai and Guangdong etc.
If your stuff happens to get tossed in the container when it is pretty full, it gets capped off soon after and shipped pretty quickly. If your stuff gets tossed in the day after a new empty container gets started, it takes weeks and weeks before it fills up and starts the trip to AU.

Im surprised the shipping time from china to australia/sydney is that fast! (assuming container is almost full) Thought it would take like 15-30 days of just sea travel + sorting, customs and last mile delivery would be a total of minimum 1 month pre-covid times. Although all of my aliexpress items is shipped by air.

That's because the majority of them aren't arriving by sea. Pretty much all come in via air unless they've shipped with a slow shipping method like China Post.

  • I've been buying quite a bit from them in recent months, I always aim for 'AliExpress Standard Shipping' which seems to have a delivery estimate of about 3 weeks, everything has been arriving on time…

The couple of things that have been a couple of days late have been "ship from Australia" items…

  • Same as everyone, the standard shipping, which is free, is normally reliable enough. I haven't ordered any items that have ended up not arriving (or taking more than 3 months).

I've been having a lot of my small orders made within a couple of days get packed up into one big package by UCL Co Ltd and they've been arriving quickly. Infact all my Cainaio Super Economy and ePacket orders are arriving quickly.

    • Yes now you mention it, I realise that in my case it was the same. A packet by UCL Co Ltd.

And all were cheap orders (as they weren’t important) using Cainaio Super Economy, which in the past I avoided because of the 60 days could stretch to 90 plus.

My last 3 orders from Aliexpress, I have picked faster EMS ePacket, and every one has come via regular snail mail, not doing that any more.

    • Wow, given mine were by Cainaio Super Economy, some one in China must be just messing with our heads, when expected slow deliveries arrive faster than expected fast deliveries.

I am jesting when thinking it could be part of a PRC elite disinformation campaign. 😀

  • I don't know what happened overnight but I was getting an order together last night and 'AliExpress Standard Shipping' was 2 to 3 weeks for all the items, Estimated Delivery on Sept 14 to 21 , today that has changed to 6 weeks for all the items, Estimated Delivery on Oct 15… It seems shit is going down, unless they've just tacked on the extra 3 to 4 weeks due to the current covid Aus Post delays…

  • It's called Combined Shipping and I have noticed this in past week, 6 seperate parcels bundled in one for domestic.

    • So it might be better to buy a few items from different sellers to get combined shipping.
