Son wanted an updated gaming headset and I found this by accident while looking at pricing for the G733 (he wanted a headset with LEDs) which was going for $225 at MWave.
Found this one on special and was cheapest price I could find, with Scorptec being the next cheapest at $279 and most other places being above the $300 mark (not including delivery).
When posting Ozbargain suggested to add the AUG21 coupon code which gives you "$10 off First Purchase over $39 Using The Amazon App @ Amazon AU"

  • cant deliver to my area? wth

    • I think this is sold by Logitech through Amazon. Not sure if that's the reason. I had no issues ordering but I'm in a capital city metro area :
      Ships from Logitechshop
      Sold by Logitechshop

      • LogitechShop is computer shop with confusing name. It has nothing to do with Logitech branding. Is the listing is sold by 3rd party seller not Amazon nor Logitech.

        • Logitechshop have been trading around 20 years out of Carlingford NSW.

They sell pretty much exclusively Logitech branded gear.

They were huge grey importers of Logitech gear back in the day - their retail prices were often half the price the same gear was going for in Harvey Norman, EB Games, etc.

I don't think they endeared themselves to the Australian distributors of Logitech gear as a result.

@TheCandyMan2020: I think they are now an official Australian sub-distributor and their prices are nowhere near as sharp as they once were.

    • If LogitechShop doesn't deliver to your area; you can purchase directly from Amazon AU for $8.28 more.

  • How old is your son, op?

    • 13 and has a large head like his dad, so hopefully this fits him comfortably. But it does mean I get my Plantronics wireless back from him, which he's been using for school work.

      • +1

mm…. My son is 13 too and I was wondering what headphone I should buy for him (not that he had asked for one).

        • seems like quite an acceptable thing to do :)

  • +1

Anyone here used to remember like 10 years ago logitechshop was like constantly on the front page of ozb with logitech deals?

    • +1

Yep, missed those cheap UE Earphones Bundles.

  • I have one of these headsets and I used it for a few months but now it just collects dust. Upgraded to Sennheiser buds and razer seiren x.

    • Sound and microphone quality is good.
    • Logitech app is better than most and gives a lot of customisation. It will save your equaliser setting for different games etc.

Main issue is that it's a fatiguing headset to wear since it's heavy. Also I have a really big head so it tends to clamp harder.

Fair warning, to get full use of this headset (eg. to check battery levels, change button assignments, manage surround or EQ) you need to use the G HUB software.

G HUB is somewhat (list of angry thread titles, in no particular order)

And that's why I shouldn't have bought this headset.

    • +1

Agreed; Logitech G Hub is a hot piece of garbage software.

      • I’m currently with Logitech ‘stack’ and want to switch off to another vendor (now that my g903 mouse is double clicking… it’s only like 15 months old with minimal use).

Which brands software works well? Corsair, Razer, SteelSeries, or any other brands?

        • Can't help you there, I love my Logitech G502 (Proteus Core) and intend to upgrade to a G502 (Hero) once/if this one dies.

Works fine with Logitech Gaming Software, no need for G HUB.

Sure, you miss a few features like per-program profiles, but LGS just works, unlike G HUB which insert graphic euphemism here.

You can still go Logitech, but check that the hardware works with LGS first.

        • Corsair hardware is pretty good, though their wireless range is kinda limited at this stage.

          • @ProjectZero: I do have a pair of their wireless headphones and yes I agree the hardware is good (HS70) for its price. Though I do find their software to be clunky, worse than Logitech G Hub.

            • @YeboMate:

Though I do find their software to be clunky, worse than Logitech G Hub.

I guess you mean Corsair's UI is more clunky vs G HUB's (when G HUB is working). G HUB isn't too bad when it's working.
That's unfortunate, because I thought Corsair would be my go-to after my G935s die.

              • @KintaroOe: Not just UI for Corsair's software (iCue) but I had issues with my headset's mic toggle for mute/unmute. I think the software was getting confused or something, I could toggle the mic on my headset itself or in iCue and it just didn't match up. Like I would toggle my mic to unmute but the software would put it to mute, and when I unmute, the headset mic thinks its muted or something… so I stopped using my mic on my headset. I think I might have to reset it if that's possible.

                • @YeboMate: Mmm, that sounds annoying. Personally I love the "flip up the mic down to turn it on, flip it back up to turn it off" on the G935s. It makes a sound and also has an LED that turns on and off. It's super obvious to me, the user, whether it's on or off.

My headset had a loose on/off switch (cheap plasticky buttons), sent it back for a warranty replacement that took over two months to fulfill. The replacement headset I got presumably has a faulty battery only lasts about an hour and a half to two hours tops from fully charged to dead (RGB turned off). I'm currently in the middle of a back and forth with Logitech for a second replacement headset, it's been two weeks and no concrete response back from Logitech. I'd avoid this model.

I have a set of these Logitech's, They only collect dust. I have replaced them with a set of Sennheiser ( epos) GSP 670, its a night and day difference and battery is easily lasting over 10 hours. They cost the exact same amount as the Logitech's.

  • I use this every day for working from home. The boom mic is fantastic for Teams - i.e. no more needing to use mouse to unmute - the boom gate will do that for you in teams. Also way better than bluetooth in terms of range. I can walk around outside in the backyard and chat as well.

  • Overpriced 'gaming' trash. Too much circuitry in it to go wrong. Pretty bad build quality too. My first pair died completely on me in 1 month and my replacement pair died in less than two weeks (left speaker died). Never going to get any 'gamer' headsets from Logitech again, especially those that have 20 different failure points. Swapped to a ATH-m50x (arguably equally as bad in some people's eyes but they had nothing 'better' at JB anyway.

  • Damn, shouldn't have bought until I had a chance for people to post. Seems that most people are not too happy with this one.
Lesson learnt, though I'll still give it a try. My son's main requirement was having a gaming headset with LEDs so hopefully the rest doesn't bother him.
Plus I get his Yamaha HPH-W300 (I tend to get the hand me downs now days) so have a vested interest in him getting this

    • Aside from some (very serious) QA issues, the hardware is good. Wireless distance is solid, mic is decent (don't forget that the very tip can be pulled out further for fine positioning!), battery is okaayyyy, and it has a 3.5mm port because there's no good reason not to. Mine have successfully survived the (accidental) drop test, a few times too many, but I'm not sure that's a reliable feature.

  • Is Logitechshop still owned by Eddie, the same guy who owned Fluidtek?
