What to Drink or Eat - to Clear Body Heat

Hey Ozb doctor,

Had my pfizer shot 5 days ago, and head still a bit dizzy, lips cracking, gum painful with lumps inside mouth and under tongue, ear sometimes humming, body muscles a bit sore.

I usually have my Ho Yan Hor herbal tea to clear body heat but i ran out and seems expensive to buy online plus shipping. Whilst wong lo kat tea has too much sugar in it.

Is there any cheap alternative cooling herbal or beverage, available locally ?

Cucumber ? Hydralyte ? Or just drink salt water ?

Thanks.

    Dr OzB… Wait for it… waitttt…..

Drink water and use Advil and/or Panadol to assist with the fever.

If your 5 days in, and still having problems, then go see your Dr!

    • I had panadol on 1st night for the head.

      Tested my temp. 36.8c

      Drank plenty of water everyday.

Thought i'd try ozb 1st , as i hate going to doctor.

Telehealth with your GP then. Easy!

When I had my 2nd shot, I just had a sleep, advil, berocca and then drank a few vodkas!
Was just fine the following day.

If you search, there was another thread a few days ago about someone having an ear problem. Lots of ideas in there too…

And drink plenty of it so you piss plenty.

Assuming you drink chilled water at 4degC and piss it out at 34degC you'll excrete 126kJ of heat per litre.

      Cooling but dehydrating!

  • Mate, Coconut water is cheap when it regularly goes on sale for $2.50/l

If not on sale, Woolies homebrand is $10 for the box of 4. (But you have to look for the boxed one).

    That'll solve your heat chi

Go to the GP you might have an unrelated virus or mouth or ear infection.

Don’t drink salt water - if anything it will dehydrate you. By all means gargle it if you have mouth ulcers, but spit don’t swallow.

Drink plenty of water and take paracetamol or ibuprofen in the mean time.

      • Good to hear. I had some yuck symptoms after my Pfizer shots too, but better than getting or spreading the virus. Glad you feel better.

  • Ocean swim

  • Forget Ho Yan Hor, try Sum Yung Hor. It may not reduce your temperature, but will make you feel better.

    Ice cream makes everything better.

  • wow there's some side affects I hadn't heard of, this is nuts lol.

  • I hear yogurt can be cooling to eat.. i hope you feel better soon. Is the tea hard to find in local shops?

  • I just asked my mum, will update when she replies. But one I do remember is barley water. Buy some barley beans, supermarket or Asian shop should be quite cheap. Boil the hell out of it til it's murky, can put rock sugar to sweeten it.
