Got the following on one of my Amex Plat Edge.

DETAILS
Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $500 or more, in one or more transactions, at any American Express accepting business by 31/10/2021 to receive a $50 credit, up to 2 times. Limited to the first 25,000 Cards to save the offer. Exclusions apply.

OFFER TERMS
Offer is valid for payments made online, in-app or in-person at any business that accepts American Express.
A total of $500 or more must be charged to your Card by 31/10/2021 to be eligible for one $50 credit. If a business does not charge your Card by this date (e.g. due to a delay in dispatching your goods), you may not be eligible for the offer.
If you spend in a currency other than Australian Dollars, it will be converted to Australian Dollars based on the rate of exchange at the time your Card is charged. A Currency Conversion Fee will apply and this fee is not eligible for the offer. You must meet the Offer spend requirement of AU$500 after currency conversion to be eligible for the offer. For more information regarding charges made in foreign currencies refer to your Card Member Agreement.
Offer is limited to $100 credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.
Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved,
online, in-app or in-person at any business that accepts American Express.
Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
Additional Cards are not eligible for this offer.
Credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
Credit should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.
Credit will not be applied to your Card Account if your Card has been suspended or cancelled.
Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.

    Yes, surprisingly got it on a no annual fee card.

    I still have not redeemed Sniip offer, potentially double dippping with this. Maybe worth waiting till the last week in OCT for any similar chances.

  In general, how does AMEX determine a person's eligibility for an offer? Some offers listed here I get and some I don't..

    I don’t think that’s going to be published anywhere.

    But think of offers as an incentive for you to spend more with Amex. So in my opinion there are 2 situations where they’d give you an offer:
    1. To make you feel nice and gooey about having an Amex, and to keep you as a customer
    2. You haven’t used the card very much, and they want you to start using it, or to remind you of the places you can spend with Amex.

    2 is obviously more targeted and personalised.

  Would be great to combine this with the Telstra Day Samsung Galaxy S21 offer. I don't have the offer on my Amex Essential unfortunately.

    Sound to me like you would get max of $50 each time, up to 2 times. If you have a purchase of $1000 or more they may let you split into 2 transactions.

      What about this?

      Purchase 1: $400
      Purchase 2: $400
      Purchase 3: $200

      Does this qualify you for $100 cashback or would you need to do an additional $300 purchase?

        I spent exact $500 in two purchases and got $50 a few days later. Now I am on to the second $500 spend. Do not risk if you want to spend the minimum. Just split pay where possible. BTW, Sniip offer and other ones can be stacked.

  I think this term means purchase using AmEx in Paypal is not eligible, but Digital Wallet payment is eligible.

    I believe you are right.

    When using PayPal - it shows up as "paypal" in the transaction.

    Whereas if using digital wallet - ApplePay, GooglePay - it shows up as the retailer in the transaction

  My first $50 has come through fine. The 2nd one is taking longer than I had hoped.

  I did spend at the same shop twice, but nothing in the terms I could see that said otherwise.
