At $15 you might as well as buy the actual proper game behind this and get the online component for free.

i personally think it's overrated. the gunplay is not that good, it's like rockstar thought realism = fun. there is far too much busywork in this game, cleaning guns is the worst chore, because they get less accurate and other downsides if you don't clean them, you gotta eat to maintain weight, gotta feed your horse to keep it's stamina up, probably some other stuff i'm forgetting.

i think rdr 2 is the most overrated game of this generation and this is coming from someone who loved rdr 1 and had been waiting for rdr 2 for the better part of 10 years. the story is mediocre, the only reason people say the story is great is because they get it confused with all the other qualities of the game that get you immersed. the visuals are stunning, but sometimes it just feels like an interactive movie rather than a game.

not worth 60 bucks in my opinion.

I have to say I did like the game, but I also agree with every point made by Alasdair, from the micro grinds, cleaning gun, horse grooming/feeding, eating food (while still having a normal health pool/bar system in place). For me this ends up feeling like an MMO without the payoff (progression/status) for doing these small tasks. You don't become a better player at the actual game for having done them, they just feel repetitive and Rockstar did a very poor job of making them fun or rewarding from my perspective. The story has moments that pulled me in, but then many scenes feel forced and poorly paced with motivations and reactions not lining up. What I did like, was riding around and shooting people in an absolutely beautiful engine, and because of this, I played it a lot longer than I would have if there was nothing going for it. I wouldn't say it's a bad game, but I'd just value it more at the $20-30 range than the $50-60 myself.
