Catch Connect Cheapest?

My Optus contact just finished and I went to get broadband iPad contact, so I’m stuck with two services, I want to reduce it by removing my $39 monthly payment to maybe one of the 365 day plans, Optus has a $365 plan but costs $180, cheapest seems to be catch connect for $89 for 365 includes 80+ GB data, is there anything else cheaper?

Depends how much data you use.

Mine expires in a month and I'm looking at woolies mobile which includes 10% off for one shop a month.

I just ordered that, pays for itself. Personally I get a lot better reception on Telstra so that's a benefit too.

I'm using about 500mb of data a month at the moment with a 50GB plan, absolute waste. Cheaper to pay out my current contract and go on something less than half the price.

  • Entirely depends on how much data you want.

Amaysim have a plan $10 for 365 days that comes with 0 data if all you want is a SIM.

Telstra have the "Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Casual" which can be $70 for 365 days with 700Mb data.

    • Nice thanks guys, prob don’t need any data at all unless it’s insanely cheap, I have my iPad or sim and can just use that for data
Would you have a link for the telstra $70 365?

      • Sure, here it is

      • $70 - 700MB(telstra) vs $89 - 80GB (catch)….. seems like a cheap insurance to have if you need the data down the road?

  • I'm with Coles Mobile, $99 for 365. That deal seems to be available monthly on OzB. It's a slightly smaller data at 60 GB, but includes international calls and text to selected countries.

  • For those interested in Catch Connect, read carefully when you manually recharge:

Note that recharging (whether manually or by autorecharge) means you'll lose any remaining standard plan inclusions for your service (plan inclusions do not 'roll over'). You'll keep any Extras that you have purchased that have not expired.

I received the recharge notification 1 month prior to expiry date and recharged, and lost the remaining 1 month credit.

Not big money but, is this common practice among other providers too?

  • Dodo $5/month, no data.
