Cheap ass Acer. They couldn't offer this to 3060 owners.

Not acer exclusive, buy an pc/laptop with a 3070 or higher from any Nvidia partners indicated on this page to receive a copy of BF2042

    • Thanks, have updated deal.

    Oh you’re f kidding me.

    I’m upset.

  • For second I thought graphics cards were available. Disappointing.

Ordered a Legion 7i on 4 August. My credit card was charged 2 September and it should arrive 8 September. I hope I am eligible. It would be unfair if I'm not because I ordered it before the promotion started.

EDIT: Looks like my invoice says 30/08/2021 so I'm good. Thanks OP. Would have had to do some doctoring otherwise.

Thanks for the unjustified neg, kind strangers.

I ordered an Alienware X17 w/ rtx 3080 on the 11th of July and I still haven't received it (delay after delay), I haven't received an invoice yet so I hope I am eligible for this.

        • +1

I originally ordered an X17 3080 i9 64GB 4K 120Hz for $5400. Was such a good price. Ultimately decided to cancel and go with the Legion 7i because of G-Sync, a 16:10 aspect ratio, a MUX switch the ability to have the unit run whilst closed (X17 needs to draw air from the top of the keyboard for cooling) and most of all a numpad. I felt sad giving the X17 away at such a good price but I got the 32GB 7i for $4600 so it wasn't all bad.

I hope your X17 arrives very soon my friend. I can't wait to play games on the 165w 3080.

          • @Guybrush57: Damn, that is a really good price!

I used a 20% edu discount to get an i7, 3080, 32gb 4k 120hz and cherrymx kb for $4995, may I ask how you got the price so low?

            • @Haoru: Ordered 28 July for $5,441.60 for all the bells and whistles including the Cherry MX keyboard except not Windows 10 Pro.

              Total price was $7,313.99.

              Price reduced by 20% ($7,313.99 x 0.8) = $5,851.19.

              Price reduced by 7% ($5,851.19 x 0.93) = $5,441.60.

It was part of this deal

A part of me regrets not following through with the deal as it was likely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but the lack of a numpad was unacceptable on a 17" laptop imo.

              • @Guybrush57: Damn what a bargain!

Fortunately for me I have converted to TKL fully even for desktop, so having no numpad is not a deal breaker for me.

                  @Haoru: Hey Haoru

I received my Lenovo Legion 7i i9 3080 today. I adore it! I hope you receive your X17 as soon as possible. You are in for a treat with the sheer computing power we have. I am in awe of your ability to adapt to not having a numpad. I have already used it heaps today. It is mainly number crunching in Excel that I use it for but also typing numbers everywhere else I find easier on a numpad. I could have bought a USB or Bluetooth external numpad but I wanted it all in one unit.

@Guybrush57: Hey Guy, I am happy to hear that you have received your laptop! I hope you enjoy it :)
There are so many things Lenovo has done good on that Laptop that I wish Alienware would take a page out of their book!

    • Sometime after 22/10/21.

So what's the cheapest deal to get this?

    • +14

      Buy the game.

  • does someone have a laptop with a 3070? I have a 3060 laptop which was a conscious decision, but I have a question

does 3070 actually reach full potential in a laptop without fans ramping up like you're sitting on a helipad?

my 4C CPU and 95w 3060 combo gets rather hot/loud on full load, and you probs need 6C or 8C CPU to feed into 3070 which means more watts to cool down, so more power to achieve promised 3070 potential

or you get lower TGP 3070 but then is it a much better performer than a 95w 3060?

I just fail to see bang for the buck benefits of going 3070 in a laptop over a 3060

well apart from free game, but there's a huge premium to pay for 3070

    • The laptop gpu is about 70-80% as fast as the desktop equivalent. Which is very good still considering the much lower overall tdp.

    • Well, it sure doesnt reach desktop level, but mine does pretty well even without fans going full on crazy.

While 3060 is the best bang for the buck this generation due to how close it is to desktop 3060 performance while not costing an arm and a leg, the 3070 also have its own merits, for one, on a similiar wattage level, 3070m is only 10% slower than the 3080m due to both of them from desktop 3070 die (and also gddr6x will never make it onto laptops due to how much heat it generates), but also, its quite a bit better than 3060m due to the 256 bit bus instead of 192 bit, 8gb vram is also comfrotable with anything 1080p to 1440p.

As for temperature concerns, I say more of it is concerned with the chasis design of your machine and the actual cooling solutions. The legion 5/5p/7, for example, have somethe best cooling solution there is with a vapor chamber, large heatpipes and overall good airflow so that its 140w 3070 will not have any problem with temps. My own machine is a 115w-130w 3070m zephyrus duo and I havent yet got anything hotter than 85 degrees in sustained gaming sessions, the fans does make a bit of noise, but I dont hear it at all when gaming with headphones on.

  • With Gigabyte this also applies to any complete desktop with a 3070 or higher purchased with a from a store with the banner AD.

Buy the game instead… Should be cheaper

  • I've just purchased a Razer Blade 14 w/ 3070 from Bing Lee. I hope they honour this deal but so far Nvidia are uncontactable and Razer are completely unhelpful!

  • Has anybody with a Lenovo been able to redeem this offer? I am having issues getting a response from Lenovo with the bundle code.

    • I have just followed the REDEEM NOW! process on Lenovo's website and uploaded a .png of the invoice they sent me. I will let you know how I go.

      • I have done the same thing, but never received a response. It's been over a week. You can't try submitting again as it says you have already redeemed this offer. I've called Lenovo and it diverts to indian call centre. They have no clue about the promotion, they just referred me back to the same website…

        • +1

Checked both my inbox and spam folder but I have not received a response from Lenovo. Getting worried now.

        • OK. Still no email. What do we do?

          • @Guybrush57: Any luck yet mate?

            • @chugsta: Hey chugsta. I had no luck so I had been meaning to follow it up somehow. However, I've no need to anymore because I received the email about 2 hours ago. Did you get yours?

              • @Guybrush57: I got my code too today, hopefully you guys get yours soon!

              • @Guybrush57: No I haven't received anything ☹️
When you submitted your request on the Lenovo website, did you click on:
                - Lenovo.com ecommerce website
                - Retail shops
                - etailer online websites

  • No idea mate. Lenovo stopped replying to my emails.
