  • what's better flat bottom or non flat bottom?

    • Depends on your stove top. Non flat bottom won't work with induction for example.

    • Round bottom is much better. There's a lot of info if you can be bothered googling it.

    • Always round bottomed.

Flat bottoms defeat the purpose of having a wok, you might as well use a pan.

    • Flat bottom would be more suitable for home cooking since it gives you more even heat.

If you do wok tossing, go for round bottom.

    • most of the people don't know how to season the wok properly.
    • aussie gas cooktops usually don't have enough Mj's for wok cooking. You probably need an update on your cooktop and rangehood to those with 0 energy star rating
    • regrettably I don't know answers for both .
      how to season ???
      what is Mj?

      answers please ? thanks

The instruction is correct but pointless if you don't use your wok frequently.

Mj is the power unit of your burner. Most of our cooktop is way under the required Mj for wok cooking.

Consider min 17Mj/hr for your wok burner.

      This.

I've found a good compromise is a heavy cast iron wok - you can get enough heat into it to sizzle rather than boil your food 👍

14" Flat Bottom Mammafong Wok, $68.99

    Wasn't it $49 earlier today ?

  • Thanks good time to use my $15 off from catch email.

  • my recommendation is to use non-stick saucepan if you haven't done asian cooking 101 and disabled your smoke detector.

if you haven't done asian cooking 101 and disabled

Not sure why being disabled is an issue here?

    Hahaha, these woks, again.

A proper wok is $22 from an Asian grocer. Better and cheaper than these.

Flat bottom woks you make the wokking world go round!

If they break, are they free ?

Why ppl so crazy about this work. Look at the pic of rusty wok on amazon.
Any work should be cheaper in any asian marr.

  • I do not like this handle, one side heavier than the other and always fall down.

  • I would avoid buying from anyone other than Amazon. Mine came with half of it covered in rust. Luckily with Amazon I could just send it back for free
