  • sound like a good deal, in the description they say DVI but in the package content they have a VGA cable. Anyone know if we can use VGA input into the monitor?

    • They say "Input Signal: Analog and DVI with HDCP support" would suggest that they come with VGA and DVI inputs. This is supported by the fact that they come with a VGA cable. You could always email ShoppingSquare to be sure.

  • Postage: $25 Australia-wide with transit insurance; $15 for each additional unit

  • Who buys 19" monitors lol

  • I hear that Acer is infamous for not honouring cash back deals… Any ideas?

    • I recently just did one for an Acer 22" and it went through fine. The golden rules are -

      1) Submit it within 14 days of purchase
      2) Keep an eye on it online
      3) Call them up / send them e-mail if you don't see status changing
      4) Be patient! (6-8 weeks minimum)
      5) Don't forget about it either. Too many people give up on cashbacks. Chase it till the end. You will get it.

All in all, easy process, just follow the instructions and do it within 14 days and you'll be fine.

  • yeah apparently try as hard as they can to get out of it - make sure you fill out everything perfectly and KEEP PHOTOCOPIES of barcodes/anything.

I just received a check for a cashback that I applied for at the end of June, and I'm still waiting on another that I sent away for on exactly the same day, so don't expect to get your money back for a while.

They apparently have a target of 33% successful claims or something like that I heard?

    • oh and if this is an acer cashback, it should be available at most stores soon? so you might be able to buy it from your local computer mob to avoid postage? A good deal on a monitor as long as you do the cashback right.

    • yeah, I'm still trying to get cashback for a monitor I bought in June. Having real trouble with them. They won't admit that they received all the documentation. So you'll have to send the documents in registered mail, which just adds to the cost.

There's discussion in Whirlpool.net on how Acer is screwing a lot of people. I've lodged a complaint with the Dept of Fair Trading here in QLD to see what happens.

  • yes the cashback is available at other stores, but the price for the monitor is higher.

MSY have this monitor for $195 which makes it $166 after cashback.

But then again 129+25 delivery is 154 so make up your mind whether you can want it delivered or to pick it up.
