  Well yes, no surprises there. A search of Fleece shows that:
  Fleece fabric is "usually" made from a type of polyester called polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or other synthetic fibres, woven and brushed into a light weight fabric.

    Very much like leather. These cheap synthetic fleece are pretending to be real fleece which is made from wool.

  I have one of these, and for $30 it's good value. I would say they are slightly large, but I guess it depends on how many layers you plan to have under it. I would order your normal size, or, if you are between sizes, or like a snug fit, then go down a size.

  need a decent looking fleece (the green 2 tone $50 one) and a long sleeve baselayer top so consider $100 OK. Not crazy, but I need these things and they look good enough quality, considering I am not going to climp K2 with them.

  "fleece" is a generic term used these days to describe a man-made synthetic product (usually Polyester/combination).The name has been in common usage for many years now and I doubt many confuse it with Wool,even if it's a misnomer.
