If you missed the education/EPP deal or from the Normal Samsung store, here is from HN (just slightly more).

The 32 inch went out of stock at the EPP before I decided to buy so I got it here instead.

Bought 5% off Gift Cards from AAMI/Suncorp but Shopback also has for the same discount. There is no limit to the amount of GCs you can use.

  • Two Dell S2721DGF or one Samsung LC27G75TQSEXXY ?

If you want to change your life, go with Samsung g7.

      • Have Samsung fixed the flickering and scanline issues?

        • I have the 32" G7 for 6 months now, I see no issues.

          • @icarus255: Might not be the panel of concern

            • @MagnamoniousRex: I saw that a firmware update fixed it, but still some were complaining. Maybe it is a panel lottery thing as well but lower chance of getting it.

    • freesynch g-synch difference

      • Both models only have FreeSync.

        • Samsung claims both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatible on their product page.
          How compatible? Dunno!

      • +1

While they don't have a dedicated G-Sync module, both models are g-sync compatible.

There's not a huge difference between them. G-sync is generally considered better, but Freesync is pretty much as good as long as it's Freesync Premium Pro (which this one is)

The real difference is dependant on what graphics card you have. If you have AMD then you use Freesync Premium Pro. If you have an nVidia card then you use G-sync.

The DGF screen is shit, I don't know why people circlejerk over them here. I returned 3 before I gave up.

I ordered the 32 inch version from Samsung on the other sale and it arrived today. Haven't done much testing but I can say that the colours feel a little washed out but nothing some tweaking can't fix. The curve is really aggressive too. It's so curved that it's distracting. But I'll probably get used to it. I'm coming from an 1800 curve monitor so not the worst thing for me, but it's still really distracting while doing the average task. But as soon as I start gaming, it's so smooth and I forget all about the curve.

Keep in mind that the curve is really, really curved.

    • I ordered this morning and arrived end of business day today (NSW).
I am coming from a 34 inch IPS office monitor so I am preparing myself for the color and shape differences.
I can't open it yet as I am moving house soon in a month. I will open it there so I don't have to repack it. The excitement is killing me.

    • Would you be so kind as to check if the patterns/images linked in this post or this image (100% zoom, no scaling) produce the scanlines issue on your unit?

If you could also provide the full model number of the unit you received and any other identifying info that's on there e.g. manufacturing date, that would be a great data point for anyone like myself who is wondering if these issues have improved at all in recent runs.

Haven't had a chance to try that yet as I haven't been on the computer all night, but apparently the scan line issue was fixed in a recent firmware update. Will try when I get a chance though.

I managed to get the colour looking better. Most reviews I saw said to reduce the black level to 9 or 10. When I do this it looks washed out. Probably more colour accurate but still washed out. When I crank it up to 14 it looks great. Awesome contrast.

Tested it all out. No scanlines or flickering issues. The model number is LC32G75TQSEXXY. I believe this is the latest version of the 1 year old model.

  • The king of monitors. Get it now, no ragrets

  • this thing is going directly from Samsung for $849 32, no one should pay more for it.

    • Sadly it's no longer available at Samsung.
Harvey Norman's the cheapest and Bing Lee's the next at $949

  • Broke my main monitor this morning, did afew hours research deciding what to save up for next, decided on the 32" G7. Take awhile to save up for oh well, maybe can find a place to afterpay it one day.

Tonight this gets posted and of course it's the one (profanity) store that offers everything bar afterpay lol.

Ahh kick me while I'm down, god dammit.

  • Good for non-gaming usage (regular office work, some dev) or nah?

    • +1

I'd say if for pure office work, this does not give that much value. But if you even game 50% of its usage, then should be worth it.

    • +1

Nah. It's a bit too off putting to use for office work. Makes the curve extra noticable. Better off getting an ultrawide 34 inch flat or 1800 curve. Like the Acer Predator or a cheaper alternative.

  • Hi! bit of a noob here.. but with a monitor like this (244Hz/1440p), would this be okay to use as my primary, and perhaps my current 28" 4K (60Hz; Samsung UE590)) as a secondary? I have a Ryzen 3600, 5700XT system.

If not, should I consider something lesser spec'd. I don't really play FPS.. maybe Genshin, PS5 through an Elgato 1080p card.

    TIA.

    • +1

Hmm you may need to lower your graphics settings to get high fps for those AAA games I think. But it would still future proof your monitor if you get a better gpu.
For me personally, different monitor size and resolution puts me off when being productive. You know, those moments you move your mouse Across monitors and it's not in line, haha.
If for gaming though, as long as the main one is centered on your table then shouldn't be an issue.

I got the 32 inch one so I just use 1 monitor for work and gaming.
