    Any bargains or just SPAM?

Any bargain? Maybe I need a pair of glasses first…

  • Tell them the price , son

      $1695 for a sleeping bag…

apparently it is for GWS supporters…

  • +3

They sell good quality stuff that lasts. If you don't think it's a good buy, don't buy it, but 50% off high quality gear is a deal.

but 50% off high quality gear is a deal.

Not if you can get it cheaper elsewhere…

      • Some you can, but some you probably couldn’t. Osprey 30L for example is a good price.

Shop around though, some of their prices aren't very good:

      Swiss army knife, 44% off = $98

      Amazon = $86

They probably do, but they also sell stuff like this:
      https://www.paddypallin.com.au/patagonia-p6-label-trad-cap-w…

I'm pretty sure I can find a "…traditional low-crown, unstructured, six-panel ball cap made from organic cotton, featuring a self-fabric adjustable strap and woven label logo" for less than that.

But can you with the same ethics (environment and social) as Patagonia? With a lifetime repair warranty?

        • +1

Yes Patagonia's ethics are awesome but lifetime repair should be expected when you are paying 10x the manufacturing cost (probably more) I mean no doubt design, quality fabrics ECT ECT cost money but if they were truly interested in ethics they'd make products that average people could afford. They are far from alone though and clearly the Patagonia box logo is worth a fortune.

  • Very limited sizes. Mostly small or XXLarg

I feel poor after looking at this place. All the stuff I'd be interested in buying is way beyond what I'd ever pay. Clearly outdoor activities are targeted at the reasonably wealthy. $300+ for a rain coat? In my mind $250 should buy you a top of the line Goretex type jacket but clearly I have no idea lol

Goretex rain jacket? Good enough for going to the shops when it's drizzling?

      • Although many of the cheaper Goretex jackets don't live up to expectations the ones that are made well are worth a premium (breathability and ability to repel rain without soaking) trust me if you've ever been caught in the rain wearing a cheap raincoat that doesn't breathe you'd realise how hot/sweaty you get and fast. The technology is definitely a good thing that deserves a price premium over cheaper fabrics I just think that premium currently is frikkin crazy.

  • Prices listed are final :(
    Got excited for nothing
